In all honestly, how long will it take us on the shuttle from LAX to DLH?

I see it's like 40 miles, but with stops and traffic etc., how long will it take us around noon on a Tuesday?

Thanks! I'm trying to realistically plan our first afternoon/evening.

Depends on the time of day. Heavy traffic = roughly 90 minutes. Light-average traffic = 45-60 minutes.

That'll serve me right to glance over your post. Just read. Tuesday around noon. You're probably looking at anywhere from 60-90 minutes.

Heehee. Thank you. I'll go ahead and plan for 90 then and be happy if we get there in less!

Just make sure you take a private shuttle -- not one with other passengers.
We made that mistake once and it took hours to get to our hotel because we were the last stop.

We plan to use The Disneyland Resort Express and they told me Disneyland Hotel was the first stop. Who did you use?

I would plan for 90, but you might be pleasantly suprised...only took us 45-50min on Friday at 9 am three weeks ago.
Have fun!
ps...we were at the last terminal pickup at the airport.

Yes the Disneyland resort hotels are the first stop so your journey will be less then everyone else's! We arrived at 11am on a Monday and it took us about an hour and 15, and we were the last stop hotel!

The Disneyland Express stops at all terminals at LAX. So if you get on at the first stop, it will take at least 20 minutes to get out of LAX. Another question is how long you will have to wait, I believe they run every 30 minutes. The time I took it, the schedule said 11:20 but it didn't show up until at least 15 minutes after that.

Good to know! I had the same question:)

Good info, We are staying at the Tropicana and really not sure what way to go as far as shuttle service. Leaning towards the Disneyland Resort express because I don't want to loop the airport for a full bus, and then be crammed next to strangers.

Is this the same as the Disneyland Resort Express? I read there is another company that is just the Disneyland Express...I think.

I have the same question about the DRE, but from SNA, how long does it take? We are staying at the Hampton Inn.
We land on a Monday at 11:11 AM, I am assuming we can get the 11:30 bus? So many IFS. IF its on time, IF the stop at Disneyland Hotel is not too long, IF our hotel isn't the last stop! I hope it doesn't take over an hour :-( I am considering a cab...but it kills me cuz its more than double the price roundtrip! But convenience!

Does it go around twice? All the rental car shuttles and the private shuttles like Super Shuttle go all the way around the airport, stopping at each terminal twice. The time I took the Super Shuttle, I got on at the first terminal so it was nearly an hour before we actually left the airport.

Yes, the one operated by Grey Line that goes to the Disneyland Hotel first.

No, it only went around once and it wasn't full. I've had that happen with SuperShuttle to Glendale for work when I arrived in the evening. One time it was just me and a guy and they went around twice, still no takers.

That's probably a little over an hour if it's a straight shot and they do the right thing and take the 105. If they somehow take the 405 for the first leg (unlikely because that would make no sense but supposedly some shuttles have taken that route in the past ) then probably closer to 1.5-2 hours :rotfl:

I am trying to plan my last day...
Our flight leaves lax at 7:30 on thurs night of pres day week (2/21/12)
So I assume we need to be at the airport around 6 to be safe

At what time would I need to be on the Disneyland express ???
4:30 ??
Tia

EDIT since I just learned return service is hourly would the 5 shuttle be cutting it to close?

I lucked out with SuperShuttle in March. GCH was first dropped off on arrival day and first picked up on the way back. The driver had a lead foot both ways, light traffic, carpool lanes. 45 minutes, door-to-door. Couldn't have been easier.
