My husband and I are trying our best to save as much $$ as possible on our upcoming cruise in Jan. Right now, we have the REAS reserved, which is an additional $339 if I remember right. Since they have changed the couples massage to the rainforest room, my only reason for keeping the REAS is so that I can be sure that we will be able to eat at Palo.
My question is this...if I cancelled the REAS, do you think that there is a good chance that I will still be able to get a spot in Palo. I was hoping that I would still be able to get something online without having to do it at the terminal, but I guess I'll do what I have to.
Can anyone offer any advice???

Are you going 7 or 4 or 3 days. If you are going on the 7 day, you should have no problem getting into Palo. The shorter the cruise, the less time slots of cours, so it is harder to get in. If you arrive at port early and board within the first hour or two, you should have no problem getting in especially if you don't have a real specific day/time preference. We boarded about an hour into boarding and got the brunch time slot on the sea day that we wanted. Even if you don't get what you want, there is usually cancellations and you can be put onto a waiting list, and odds are, you'll get in. The rainforest room alone is definitely NOT worth $300 and some odd dollars, that's for sure.

Especially if you are a past passenger and can reserve it online 90 days in advance. I would cancel REAS...

If I were you, I would indeed cancel it...Your chances are more than good at getting it online, as you are a CC member...They also hold 50% back upon boarding..I have never done it online (was not started yet) and always got whatever spots we wanted...We do also arrive early at the port..

:goodvibes

i also agree...now that disney has online ressies and has changed the REAS package, i think very few people will reserve it....I reserved the REAS package this year for early ressie privileges but my hubby and i would not normally pay $$ for spa and such so now that disney has changed their package we will not be putting much $$ to the spa.....oh well, disney's loss!

Even if you knew ahead of time that you would definitly NOT get a Palo reservation without the REAS package...

...well, Palo is very nice, but not so nice that I'd be willing to spend $300+ just to have a meal there.
