We began our countdown to the next WDW trip 330 days ago and have been counting down. Everything is ready, dining reservations made, christmas decorations for the room packed......cloths even have begun the triage process.

Today I discovered that an achilles tendon injury months ago has now gotten much worse.......when tendons go bad!!!

Anyway, MRI on Saturday will determine if we go to WDW or I spend our vacation recovering from surgery.

If we go....we will have to rent an electric wheelchair. I know there are acres of tips on this board but any special tips anyone wants to throw my way will be greatly appreciated.

I have been in tears for hours.

AND MY WALKING BOOT LOOKS LIKE DARTH VADER!!! (My mission tonight is to dress it up a little. I know basic black is fashionable. It's ugly...but the pain disappears!!!!!!

Just had that exact thing this past summer. Wear your boot, except when you're swimming, showering or sleeping (your doc probably told you that). Rent the eCV from an off site company and USE IT! Take a cane for help with balance when you need to get off it. All will be well.

When you get home, I hope your doc prescribes physical therapy. Mine did, and the combination of treatment, shoe inserts, and exercises (34 different exercises!) has got me totally without pain now, 5 months later.

Good Luck!

You know that the trip would be doable if you are well enough to go as you are on this board and have probably read plenty of trip reports by people who are in worse situations. Thus I can at this time give you a few things to tide you over.

Chocolates are great therapy but the calories add up so try cuddling a dog.:cloud9:
Hugs and good wishes and prayers for your trip.:grouphug:
More hugs and snugs:grouphug:
ECVs are fun to drive especially when you chase an annoying person.
:rolleyes1 :woohoo:
More hugs for you.:grouphug:
