I really really feel terrible - I often asked folks how the weather is in their part of the country - then I feel kinda embrassed cause I am wearing summer clothes and working with the AC on while those up North are not exalty basking in warm weather - well guess what the tables have been turned on us here in Florida - as of next week especially during the cruise of the 18th - we will be have our temp waaaaaaaaaay down into the 30's in fact almost freezing - so yep you do need to bring some warm clothes down especially if you are coming in a few days before you sail --those that I joked with about NOT bringing the cool weather down with them - relax - you won't be bringing it down - its gonna be here waiting for you.
I am so sorry - wish it could have been different - if it changes for the better, will let ya all know.
Luv ya all
Always
Shirley

ps - the person you see around dressed up as if she is in Alaska will be me :sad2:

Thanks for posting Shirley....

does this mean that the weather will be chilly in PC from here on in???? We are sailing on the wonder Jan 6th and I remember last time we sailed in January it was also very chilly!!! I was hoping that was a fluke!!

Unfortunalty its going to hang around for awhile - I remember in 2000 it stayed COLD from November through February and the tourist were leaving and going home cause it was warmer at home - something is happening cause we are also suppose to have a more active hurricane season next year, but for now Norm and I are just going to concern ourselves with the great weather we are having today :cool1:

BTW and I have mentioned it a number of times - just jot my cell number down before you come down on your vacation - someone needed to run their little girl over to the hospital Sunday night and she just happened to write the number down and carry it with her - we were able to help the family in a situation that they could have handled, but its always nice to know there is a safe zone here - 321-508-2246
Hope all have a great day.
Much of everything good to ya all
Always
Shirley and Norm

Thanks Shirley for letting us know. We are going to be at disney on the 15th and off on the Wonder on the 19th. I ordered a basket from you on Monday and wanted to thank you. The kids will be so surprised.

If you get a chance give us an update next week. When is the change forecast to happen?

My sister was married at Wilderness Lodge on January 6th, 1996. We made it through the wedding okay, but were wearing winter coats the next day. I remember all the palmtrees at the Poly covered in plastic with space heaters trying to keep them alive. :guilty:

Thanks for the weather report/warning Shirley....

We are coming down Saturday and I see the temps are in the 60's then..

We are on the 12/12 Wonder....I hope the Bahamas are warmer at least.

I was just deciding if we were going to bring coats or sweatshirts...Guess the coats wins out....

Hi Shirley,
If the weather is that cool there, what do you think it will be like in Key West on the 19th? Will they be as affected?

Sailing soon!

Thanks,
Tina

I am assuming you mean 30's only at night because if thats day then somthing is wrong with the weather! lol Its cooling off here in mississippi. It was in 70's for a high but now this weekend its only going to be highs in 50's. I just cant wait for my cruise on the 18th for warm tropical weather. Thanks for the update.

Matt

Actually Donald,
She could mean 30's during the day....

We were down in Orlando for Thanksgiving last year....On black Friday the weather turned brutal and it was in the low 40's that day. We only had lighter clothes with us and nearly froze to day that day playing mini-golf.
(and the sun was out that day.)

According to accuweather.com, next week the highs will be in the 60's and the lows will be in the 40's. Here is the weather for the days we are there.

Cape Canaveral/Orlando:
12/16 - High 65/Low 45
12/17 - High 63/Low 45
12/18 - High 64/Low 45
12/19 - High 64/Low 45

Nassau
12/20 - High 71

Castaway Cay
12/21 - High 73/Low 60

Day at Sea
12/22 - High 78/Low 66

They only go 15 days in advance.

Cape Canaveral/Orlando:
12/16 - High 65/Low 45
12/17 - High 63/Low 45
12/18 - High 64/Low 45
12/19 - High 64/Low 45

Hey Susanne - I LOVE your post on the temp - will believe yours more than mine but it still will be chilling here - also Key West, most of the time, has the same type of weather that the Caribbeans have so it should be nice.
Will keep all posted as time comes - today its great and its warm.
Always

Hi Shirley, it's Teresa from Michigan. I called and ordered goodies for our 12/18 Magic cruise. Remember you asked me not to bring the cold? I warned you that we kind of have a curse. Our Christmas 2000 trip to WDW is the record cold snap you were talking about. Hope the weather report turns out to be wrong.

I'm so excited about the suprise goodies you'll be making for our cabin. Can't wait to see the look on the DSs faces :D

Take care,
Teresa

if you really are switching, will you take away our snow and ice that we got yesterday?

HeyTW,
70 years old and never have seen snow, sleet and all that goes with it - we have had ice here tho, but I know not like you all have it - I bet it is awesome, but like the heat here, we get tired of it - I always wanted to be an ice skater and I can just imagine trying now at this age, but just maybe someday will get to see it all - thanks for the imput and don't want to hurt your feelings, but will keep what we got for now :cool1:

Hey Shirley....

Just so you can "experience" what we ususally go through during the winter....I posted a link to pics I took last year!!!! Granted it is not like this all winter....but a few good storms come through each year!!! Hope to see you in January!!!

At least our lab, Daisy, loved it!!!

Shirley -

No hurt feelings here. The pictures posted by mmouse (great pics by the way) are a good indication of our lives in the middle of winter. Be thankful for where you are, although I do love the seasons. I can't imagine warm weather all year round and no fall foliage. Some day maybe. Stay warm next week in your (what we would call a) heat wave.... :smooth:

Shirley-

That is so nice of you to give a warning/update to all of us. If it changes back to warmer weather, please post an update.

We went around the Super Bowl a while back and it was in the high 80"s. But we knew that it was just a fluke!

Bundle up and stay warm! :D

Shirley, I just called the other day to order a tree for our cabin (12/18 sailing) and you also asked me not to bring the cold down! Well, even if it's chilly, it can't be as cold as Ohio, right?

Yea I know its gotten that cold before. We have been there when it was in the low 40's during the day. The reason I was question is because weather.com didnt say 30's during day so I was just checking.

snelsonbrown: Belive me you arent missing anything by not getting snow. We lived in cold areas most of my life but after we lived in Georgia, California, and Mississippi we will never do winter again. Yea we got the hurricanes and junk thats come with living in the south but I would rather deal with that then snow, and blizzards. I love living in areas now were we see no were near snowy weather!
Thanks for the update again!

I am so glad to hear that! We are leaving on the 17th for WDW and I was hoping it wouldn't be too hot. I fell going up the stairs into my house the other day and now I have all these really big, ugly black & blue marks on my legs. At least now I'll be able to wear my blue jeans and not be burning up in the heat.
