I am finalizing my packing list. We are dad, mom, 17 dd, 12 ds and 3 dd. Going in 21 days. I am wondering what u include as must has on ur trips. Meds. Zip lock bags. That kinda stuff. Thanks.

The MOST important thing we did for our trip, although we rented it not packed, was a stroller for our 3 and 5 year olds. I don't think we would have made it without them. We used kingdom strollers, citi mini. Very nice strollers and easy to fold up for the bus

I packed wet wipes, even though I never use them or need them at home. I ended up using at least one a day! Either something sticky got on my hands, or Goofy drew all over my hand with a blue permanent marker (yea, that happened). And we didn't even have kids with us! :rotfl:

wet wipes, hand sanitizer, and sunscreen. 3 things I never forget to pack.

Snacks. My wife pre-packed a bunch of snacks, crackers, etc in zip lock bags. Food is very expensive at disney, quick service of a couple burger and kid size pizzas is gonna run about $50. And it's pretty horrible quality. So if you can get by with some snacks and skip a meal you will save a lot. Also, a bottle of water is 2-3$ at the parks. I ordered a case from amazon and had it shipped to our resort before we got there. It was about $8.50 including shipping for a case of 24.

A power strip. There are never enough outlets in a room to plug everything in or the outlet is not reachable.

1. Some sort of large clip. A bag clip or a binder clip, something along those lines. If you have a room that faces say, towards the west, the light will beam in through the curtains that cover your sliders like a death ray. You can clip the curtains shut.

2. Closet sweater hangers. This will give you some nice large shelves to store things.

3. Paper fold up boxes sold at Dollar Tree. This gives you several little places to store things and put them up instead of having the items scattered about.

4. Pop up laundry baskets. Put them under the sink or in an out of the way corner and toss your dirties in as you go.

5. Safety pins. Do I need to say more?

6. A small kit with everything medical you can think of: constipation, diarrhea, sunburns, other burns, headaches, body aches, colds, blisters, cuts/scrapes, and hurt feelings. Mine usually has sample or travel size of all of the above and the bandages are taken out of their boxes before packing. Most of it comes from the Dollar Tree.

7. Extra hair accoutrements from the Dollar Tree or similar, especially ponytail bands. They are useful for so much more than hair. You can close all sorts of things securely. Much better than rubber bands.

8. Coffee in premade packets along with whatever you take in your coffee.

9. Clorox sanitizing wipes. Not only are they good for cleaning off surfaces, they are better than Tide pens at getting away stains off clothes. Don't bother with the travel pack. Buy a bottle and put a good wad of them in a good zippered ziplock-style bag.

They now make Clorox wipes in a handy flat package just like the travel pack but it contains more sheets. Great for packing in luggage.
I also pack a few pairs of disposable rubber gloves that I use with the Clorox wipes to clean the room

Always take....
Clorox wipes & sanitizer ( already mentioned I know)
Crystal light packs ,personalized water bottles for the kids and get ice water at the cs locations
Snacks and breakfast items that can be eaten on the bus on the way to park ( cereal bars, protein bars, raisins, pop tarts etc)
Small bottle of bubbles for long ride wait times and waiting on parades to start
Ponchos
Starbucks instant coffee and sweetener packets
Ziplock bags
Travel size meds ( these are outrageously expensive in gift shops) and band aids

Sunscreen, aloe, hand lotion, water flavoring packets (crystal light, etc.), breakfast snacks, band aids, mole skin (for blisters), blister band aids, extension cord (because there's not enough outlets and they are in inconvenient locations), ponchos, gum.

Also, a bottle of water is 2-3$ at the parks. I ordered a case from amazon and had it shipped to our resort before we got there. It was about $8.50 including shipping for a case of 24.

FYI, no need to pay for bottled water in the parks, or haul a bunch of bottles around in a backpack. You can get a cup of ice water for free at any counter service restaurant.

It is kind of handy to have a case of water in your hotel room, though, since Orlando tap water tastes and smells sort of unpleasant. I'd get a case of water just to drink in the room, and just refill my refillable water bottle at the parks with counter service ice water.

Last trip to the Land we went to the dollar store and stocked up on glow bands/bracelets/swords/crowns. Amazing how quickly a kid wants these when the parade starts and Disney is selling them.

Once we found Tide in blocks kinda like dishwasher soap. Great to take a couple with kids have accidents.

I got a "wand" in the Target Dollar Spot- I think it was $3. It was labeled as a "baton". The wand was about 12 inches with a rubbery gem shape on the end. Both the handle and the gem had lights that went off when bumped. It was great- fancier than the thin glow tubes but much cheaper than the battery lights sold there.

Feminine products. Yes, if is fun to buy them in the resort shop just because they tell you to "have a magical day" as they hand them back to you in the bag but they are not sold in parks. At least not in AK. Except for in machines in the restrooms but I had no quarters. So don't forget!

Benefibre(not sure of American brands, this is what we have in Ontario) makes the powdered drink flavour packets(like crystal light). My son and I have discovered that the water in sunny Florida gives us tummy troubles. We mix one in a bottle of water per day and we are good to go.

Misting Fans-they saved the day for us last trip but I do suggest laying some ground rules with them as not everyone wants to be sprayed with water.

I agree with the dollar store glow in the dark bracelets. My kids were easily satisfied with having something glowy of their own while watching the parade and fireworks.:wizard:

I also agree with packing snacks. We eat breakfast at the resort then pack snacks and a light lunch. A dinner at one of the quick service counters and we are good to go and stayed on budget!

A first aid kit with a sample of everything from bandaids to immodium to toilet paper to lysol wipes, its worth it.

I learned on my last trip(from the Disboards of course) to write or tattoo(washable) your cell phone number on your kids in the chance that they get separated from you.

An extra suitcase for souvenirs! We always put one suitcase inside a larger one and pack as light as possible filling in all the gaps with snacks, we eat the snacks while in the parks, un nestle the suitcases and never come home with extra space!

scissors--I am at Disney this week and packed these to open my husband's pain patches. I have used them everyday for something besides the patches. He has not needed them. LOL.

extension cord or power strip--I wish we had one of these. We are OK without them, but they would have been handy.

waterproof jacket--I had rain ponchos, but the first day we were here, I woke up with a migraine. It got better after suppertime, but it was raining that night at MK and I got cold. I now have a nice Mickey jacket. :goodvibes

:thumbsup2 Yes...scissors! We learned this the hard way when DH tried to open the resort gift shop purchased (and overpriced) SD card with a pen- and cracked it! Back to the gift shop to buy another!
And come to think of it....pack an extra SD card- or two!
