DW and I are thinking of taking a 20th anniversary trip in Oct. 2003. The dates are 10/8 to 10/13. Will the WDW Golf Classic have an impact on getting ressies. Not worried about crowds or anything else.

Don't know about next year, but DH and I are going this year. I made our reservations at BCV at 7 months and got a 1-bdrm with no wait list. He's pretty jazzed about this trip. We arrive on 10/12 and leave on 10/21. Playing golf three days and the tournament!! A man's dream come true!!

Don't know how or if it will affect park attendance, maybe someone else knows.

:p :p :p :p :p

Since you obviously (:D ) know the dates well in advance of your 11 month window, there shouldn't be any problem getting the dates/unit size that you want no matter what is going on in the World. Unless you don't own at one of the WDW DVC resorts, I can't imagine that you will have a problem reserving DVC accomodations. Congratulations a little early on your upcoming 19th anniversary!

Funny that you posted this, I just called DW the other day to find out if they had the dates for the 2003 tournament. The guy acted like I was crazy for wanting to know this info so far in advance. He told me that it is generally the same time every year(BIG HELP!!!) but he wasn't sure of the exact dates. I too was wondering how it would impact crowds at the park. DD usually has a couple of days off school in October, so I thought that might be a good week to go so she wouldn't miss an entire week. Of course I probably won't know those dates until school starts in August of 2003, and that's way past the 11 month window! It seems like we were there in '98 during the golf tournament and crowds didn't seem bad during the week, but that was the same year the Daytona race was rescheduled due to the fires, and it seemed like there were a lot of extra people in the area because of the race. In fact, I remember them extending park hours a couple of nights at the MK til 11:00p.m. because of the extra crowds.

We have been at WDW during the tournament and found it to be a moderately busy time but we found there were no problems. Make your resees and PS as soon as possible and you will have a great time. To get up close and personal with the PGA players, go to the tournament on Thursday or Friday. The crowds will be very light.
Visiting the WDW National Car Rental Tournament is a great way to spend some non park time at DVC. Have a great time.

Though dates have not been announced yet, it is highly unlikely that the tournament will be the week you are planning. That tournament is never earlier than the third full week in October.

The Dates are on Disney's site and the PGA's. The dates mentioned are 10/17 thru 10/20. I know they have some practivce day's before hand, but the public can not get ticket for this.

The prices are $25 each day or $50 for all 4 day's. I ordered a ticket through ticketmaster a week ago.

The dates just given above are for 2002. You won't know the actual 2003 dates until the PGA announces them which should occur in a couple of months.
