Impact of Children's Place Buying Disney Store on our DVC Discount

Has anyone heard what the impact of the Children's Place buying the Disney Store will have on our DVC Discount? The manager told me that they were still honoring the DVC discount, but didn't know for how long.

I received my DVC Discount (Promo 10, they call it) at TDS at Lime Ridge Mall in Hamilton, Ontario on Friday afternoon. I considered my shopping trip to be grief therapy after learning of the death of a friend from breast cancer that afternoon.

This past week I spoke with a Manager from our local Disney Store. She was very disappointed with the new ownership. However she said that DVC discounts will still be honored.

The intent is to honor the discount into the future. It is a contractual agreement between DVC and TDS.

I received the discount when I went shopping on Sunday....eventhough I had previously been told by the manager that the discount was history after the take-over on the 21st.

Needless to say I was happy!

I was told by a TDS CM on 12/22/04 that they no longer accepted the DVC discount. Was this CM misinformed? She told me to "take it up with them (DVC)" for not communicating this "change" with their members.

I'm guessing yes, because I used my DVC discount today at TDS.

I would definitely say that CM was misinformed, as a TDS Cast Member we are still excepting DVC cards for your 10 % discount. As far as what will happen after Jan 2, 2005. We have not been told yet, but that's not surprising since we also haven't officially been told anything on the new park ticket pricing and if we will continue to sell the new park entrance media.

KennyK.... We were sort of told that we would be selling the new tickets. We received an MIB about 2 weeks ago that said "Coming Soon to the Disney Store" New Walt Disney World Tickets, Detail to follow......

As far as the DVC discount as of Today, was are still giving the 10% discount and we have not been told (as of yet) that it would not continue!

I got the discount this afternoon. The store was really cleaning out. I got a heavy Mickey sweatshirt that was originally $34.50, marked down to $9.99 for $9.00. They even gave me the hanger! It looked like they were putting new merchandise in the front of the store.

A few days before Christmas I stopped into our local TDS and got a great deal on long-sleeve Incredibles Tees. If I remember correctly, the original price was in the $28-32 range. They were marked on clearance for $2.99!!!

Got a Violet tee for DW (figured even if she didn't like it she could wear it next time we paint the house for that price), and one with the entire family for myself. I thought they were really sharp shirts. They don't have the CGI characters on them, rather they are done in a sort of iconographic style that is on display in some promotional materials for the film.

Honestly I was too embarassed to ask for the 10% off of my $6 purchase.

What video adds are you referring to. I haven't seen any video adds here on L.I. ?? Unless your referring to the video they play in the stores.

i got some of these last week as well...such a great score! i got my discount...i bought an enormous bag full of stuff for only $40.

Our Disney Store REFUSES to give me the discount. I told them they are still supposed to accept it and they won't.

Any suggestions?
