We just took a 7 day cruise on Celebrity Millie. We have cruised DCL 4 times, since 9/11 we had to go thru immigration in St. Thomas. No biggy just a pain getting up early. (we are US citizens) We felt that it was a waste since they didn't even look at our passports or birth certificates. When we did the check on Celebrity we were given a piece of paper per guest that we had to hand in and the immigration people scanned it plus the immigration officer actually looked at our paper work and made sure our photos matched us.
What surprised us was on debarkation day we had to go through immigration again. Once again it was the same procedure as in St. Thomas. It went smooth. We assumed it was because our last port of call was Nassau in the Bahamas. My question is this, Is this how DCL is now handling the immigration procedure? Do you get a piece of paper and it is scanned? Since the last port of call is Castaway Cay for both ships and it is in the Bahamas are they doing immigration before debarkation? Kathy
