Flying into Sanford in mid July. Does anyone know what the waiting times are like going through immigration with the new security procedures. Getting past this part has always seemed bad in the past, although once through, baggage collection is brilliant.

Hi, We flew to Sanford 4 weeks ago and the time from getting off the plane to driving out the airport was no more than 25 mins.
I hope its as quick for you.
This time is including the immigration officer asking me a couple of questions as I have a visa and not the visa waiver !

I have been to Sanford 4 times. I prefer it to MCO. I think the times are really all down to luck, ie whether you land around the same time as another plane. When more than 1 land you get cues. ! Otherwise you are straight through. :cool1:

Hiya

Have only ever flown into Sanford. When I went we did land at same time as another plane but immigration queue was only about half an hour. Once immigration was done we went to baggage claim and the bags had just started to come through so good timing really, Had immigration been quicker we would have been waiting for our bags.

As others have said, at Sanford if you land at the around the same time as two or three other planes land, then it can take ages. If you're the only plane, it'll be quick. To be honest though, even with the large queues at MCO, its still the quicker aiport given how close it is to I-Drive compared to the long drive you have from Sanford down I-4 or the Beeline/Expressway (or whatever its called, they've got so many names for their toll roads!).
