We don't have park tickets for Thanksgiving day and wanted to avoid the crowded parks anyway. But my kids want to see Happy Feet and I thought it would be a fun movie to see on an IMAX screen. Does anyone know if there is one in orlando? thanks

Yes, there is one at Muvico at the Pointe (this used to be a great shopping mall, but its gone under a bit and everything is closing/closed, but they are under renovations to bring it back to life).

The Pointe is on International drive right next to Wonderworks (the upside down building), and there are also a few really good restaurants in this area like Capital Grill, Bahama Breeze, and Cafe Tu Tu Tangos

Accoring to the above link..............Muvico has an IMAX.

Here is the current listing for Muvico off of Hollywood.com which doesn't mention if they are an IMAX theater or not. Maybe they are no longer one???

You might want to give them a call and see if they are still doing IMAX movies. With the way the mall has gone downhill, maybe they have stopped????

There are two IMAX theatres in Orlando. One is at the science center, and they show museum films - oceans, planets, travel stuff. The other is a Pointe Orlando. Sometimes they show IMAX films, other times they show regular films and call it the giant screen experience. Pointe Orlando used to be a nice touristy shopping center, now it is very rundown. It may be more crowded, but I would recommend Downtown Disney. www.fandango.com has time and ticket info.

It's not so much rundown at this point as just under construction. Tons of construction. Supposedly will be very nice once it reopens. And yes, there is still an IMAX theater there.

BTW, Happy Feet is very funny, saw that and the new 007 this weekend, and was shocked that I preferred the penguins.

Ha Ha...it appears that most of America preferred Happy Feet to the 007 movie. :rotfl2:

What happen to the tall dark handsome 007s. This that play 007 was ugly. I prefers the penguins too.

LOL! We had a huge family "discussion" about which to see. I won and we went to see Bond. None of us liked it very much, although we DID think the new guy was a great choice. The penguins are awaiting us this weekend, and I hear that they are a lot of fun. Nobody I know that has seen Bond was that excited either, except for the critics. Did anyone here on the board like it?
