Does anyone have any info on this or can you direct me to a thread that discusses this?

DS is crazy over WDW. He is always talking about DH and himself going into the garage this summer and building audioanimatronics. He is convinced that they will be building them and then we can take them with us on vacation. (Small ones I hope:rotfl2:) He talks all the time about how imagineers do this and that and how they got to that point.

I thought it may be neat for him to get to have lunch with an imagineer. DD got to do BBB last time and I thought that there was going to be a place where the kids could dress up like pirates that he could go to this time, but either I read something wrong or plans have changed. Maybe this could be his something special to do at WDW.

If anyone has any information on this, I would appreciate the help. Thanks.

I did Lunch with Imagineer Dec 2006 with my best friend. We loved it. It was the best money I have ever spent. The lunch just flew by. I would highly recommend Lunch with Imagineer to anyone.

I just booked lunch with an imagineer for June yesterday. I had tried since my 90 day ADR to book it and it wasn't there- but yeterday we had finally decided on something else and low and behold- there it was.

How many days out from your trip are you if you don't mind me asking? It states on All Ears that you can only reserve this meal 60 days out but if we could do it at 90 days, that would be awesome!

Lunch with Animal Programs was at Jiko, not Artist Point. Dinner with the Imagineer was at Artist Point. This was also discontinued, last year.

Lunch with an Imagineer is offered only at the Hollywood Brown Derby at DHS. Cost is $60.99 for 10 and over, $34.99 for 3-9. The price doesn't include tax or gratuity.

Do you pay in advance for this meal or do you pay at the meal? It really doesn't matter either way to me, just would like to know ahead of time.

Is it really hard to get reservations? DH and DS could do either a Mon or Wed lunch. I hope they can get in.

I booked this at our 90-day mark last Sunday. It took awhile to find an agent that knew how to book it and I was transfered around a bit - but after 1 1/2 hours - I finally got it on the day I wanted during the last week of June.

My two DDs are both studying engineering and this is a surprise for them - can't wait until they finally figure out why their Dad and I want to eat at the Brown Derby!

I was told when I tried to book it for us that children have to be over 14. They told me it was a long meal with several courses and not something kids like. My daughter is 11 and really wanted to go. She knows everything about Disney and wants to be an Imagineer. She's very smart and I'm sure wouldn't get bored. I'd love to hear if anyone else has heard this about the age requirement.

I did dinner with an Imagineer at Artist Point last July and had a fabulous time. My imagineer was Alex, MK's lighting director. He told us about how he came to be an Imagineer and some funny job stories. He was sure to go around the table and ask us all about ourselves (finding a funny story to relate to each of us). There were two Imagineer hopefuls (myself and a 13-year-old boy), and he was sure to answer all of our questions (I did this dinner by myself!).

How old is your DS? I noticed there are children's menu pricings for lunch with an Imagineer, which is odd because I thought there was an age limit. I know for dinner with an Imagineer, it was 14 and up (yet there was a 13-year-old boy there.... go figure!).

I would definitely recommend this - it is so much more informative than any tour you can take (though, I suppose it depends on your guide). I suggest sending DH with DD and going along with DS (I noted from my experience that moms are so much better about asking questions.... and you'll want to go).

I noticed the same things, LittleMissMagic. I would think if the OP tries to reserve Lunch with an Imagineer for her son (and at least one adult, of course :)), and the Cast Member indicated the age 'restriction', she could easily point out that Disney OFFERS a child price for this event.

Note that you don't get to 'choose' your Imagineer. There is a rotating group, but not necessarily on a regular schedule - so the Imagineer you get may not actually be in the field of particular interest.

Also, just a general request: in most cases, there will be multiple parties at each meal. Please be respectful of your companions and try not to monopolize the Imagineer. There've been rare but existent reports of disappointing experiences due to Guests of varying ages doing that.

The dinner was for 14 and over, but the lunch has price points for children. I've also seen a review of the lunch, during which an infant was present.

You can't use DDP with Lunch with an Imagineer. We did this last Thanksgiving at the Brown Derby. There were kinds under 12 but its a very small group of people. It was a great experience and I would do it again. Make sure to go with lots of questions.
