i HATE when people say that stuff
fishing for compliments is my BIGGEST pet peeve.


i dont EVER tell people about my insecurities, because i dont want to fish for compliments or make them think i am.

there is a difference between confiding in your friend about your insecurities and fishing for compliments

do you guys hate that too?

Sometimes I may come off like I'm fishing for compliments, when I'm not. I know I've said "I look like a 12 year old, I'm fat, blahblahblah" because that's the way I feel. You don't have to tell me I'm skinny or I look older because I'm not! I'll tell my friends "Ew, I feel like a cow" because that's how I feel. They always say "Sonya, you're fine, blahblahblah". Yeah well, they're not the ones who let themselves gain 5 pounds in two weeks.
And before anyone says anything, yes 5 pounds makes a difference when you're small like I am.

ETA: yeah i get made fun of on a daily basis. yeah it sucks. i ***** and moan and my self confidence gets lower. i HATE what the media does to women. EX Jessica Simpson. she is pretty even if she DID gain a few pounds. she doesnt need to loose weight to be beautiful .

but what if people really do feel like that? people that automatically disregard others trying to express their pain as a way to get attention create people that dont trust anybody or they are never true about their feelings and feel the need to hide how they feel.

those people work hard to lose weight. ITS NOT easy. i give kudos to anyone who's lost weight without starving themselves.
i am forever greatful i got the easy way out (chemo to lose weight), because if i didn't i'd be over 200lbs by now. at 5'3 that's obese.
beautiful is beautiful, no matter the size.

Gahh! I HATE that too. There's this one girl in my phys. ed class that always says she's pale as a ghost, when she goes tanning EVERY day, and is seriously disgustingly tan.
Then there's another girl, who is skinny as a twig and keeps on calling herself fat, when she can't be more than 105 pounds.
She's all "Omg I hate my legs, they're so fat"
Then there's another girl, who ALWAYS complains about her skin, saying that she has SOO many pimples, when she seriously has flawless skin.

You're beautiful. Not only on the outside, but on the inside as well. I know it sounds so cliche, but the people who make fun of you are insecure about themselves. At some point in the future, they'll look back and realize that too, and they'll feel pretty stupid. And you'll look back and realize that it made you a stronger person.

I don't think she was being mean Kels. She was just trying to put a little humor into this thread. That's how Katie is, she's a sweetheart and she wouldn't say anything to bring someone down. She's a very sarcastic person, and sometimes people take her the wrong way.
