I'm trying something new and need input

I am not a very fast nor very talented photoshopper, but I wanted to try something different for my "possible" vacation next year summer. It will take a long time to get everything together so I want to start early. I have a picture and made it a lower translucent and I started typing the story on top of the picture. This will be an autograph book.

Does anyone know if there are condensed books online that are available that I can just copy/paste? The books I have are very long and they won't fit on one page.

This is just a very rough draft. I will have a decorative photo layout on the back of each page for the next pages story. Just like the autograph books at the parks.

Do you have any suggestions on the layout?
Finding a condensed story?
Is the translucent OK? Should it be lighter? Darker?
Leave an open space for autographs or let them sign over the story?
Any other suggestions?

I've never seen anything like what you are asking for...but...that's not saying there isn't anything out here tho...someone will come up with just what you are in need of...
