Im torn between BWV and SSR

Hi There!

A friend of mine at work (also a teacher) purchased SSR and is very disappointed! He didn't realize the importance of "Buy Where You Want to Stay".

He has been unable to make ressies for BCV, WLV and BWV during the school breaks, at the seven month window, when he must travel. He is going to sell his SSR because now that he has seen the other DVC resorts, he believes SSR is the least desirable. Just his opinion, but really the one which matters because he is the owner.

Every DVC family has their Disney "Home". Take your time deciding which one appeals mostly to your family and buy there!!!!

It is so important to make an informed decision when purchasing! The DVC guides can make it seem at times that you will be able to stay at any DVC at any time! That is simply NOT true, espcially for those who must travel during school vacations.

WE have friends who are having the same problem getting into other resorts. They bought at SSR and now wish they had bought elsewhere. Make sure you like your "home" before committing to the contract. pirate:

We recently did an add-on at SSR. Obviously, we could have chosen any of the DVC resorts, but at our age (mid 30s) the extra years were very attractive to us. Throw in low annual fees, scenic open spaces, attractive pools, proximity to DTD, and incentives, and in the end it was too hard to say no to SSR. Besides, we really like it there.

The best piece of advice I could give is this: don't worry yourself sick about which resort is "better". The fact is, they're ALL very nice. Just because you chose one resort doesn't mean that you cannot stay at any of the rest. You can. Go with your first instinct, and don't look back.

Oh... and realise is spelled realize... unless, of course you just came into a great windfall.... or unless I am just ignorant... which, I could be..

Realise is spelled realize in AMERICAN English, so your teacher would be proud. However, my teacher would likely mark that one wrong (or we might debate the preferred spelling, as I like "ize" too).... You'll have to cut the Brits, Australians, and Canadians some slack on these too:

Colour (Eng) and Color (US)
Centre (Eng) and Center (US)
Litre (Eng) and Liter (US)
Favourite (Eng) and Favorite (US) and the list goes on...

You can imagine that with a US spell-checking program (or is that programme? ) we are constantly second-guessing ourselves.

OK, this thread has gone way off topic, time to close it.
