"I'm too old for Facebook!"

Maybe I read between the lines too much, but I think it's a snotty thing to say. He said "I'm too old..." as in "I'm too grown up" as in "I'm more mature than you."

I dont think that at all. In fact.. I saw this, and thought.. Yeah. Me too. Im too old. Not in a snotty way at all, but just in the same way that I look at the clothes in Hot Topic or something. I USED to wear them, now Im to old! and fat... but thats not the issue.. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I really dont like thay grandparents ect, are getting their own FB profiles. It was intended for college students and should stay that way. JMO.

Yes. They should just dry up and stop reaching out to distant friends.

Edited because I decided to act like a grown up....move along, nothing to see here.

Your kidding right??:)

I don't want to do facebook -because I am a private person and do not want to hook up with old friends.
I don't think it is an age thing.

Well I am pushing 40 and in college, am I allowed to use facebook?
Or am I too old for college too?

And by the way there are two grandmother's in one of my classes.

I went to school with grandmothers AND grandfathers. :scared1: The horror!

Don't tell that poster, but I think grandparents actually have... you know... s-e-x. :faint:

I think of Facebook and Myspace as kid things, too. I don't tell that to other adults IRL who do that stuff, I just say it isn't for me, but the kids are into it. I know some adults do get into it, but I just think of it as a kid thing.

I just don't get why people use that. Pick up the phone and call me. Send me an email.

I also do not text and don't like to be texted (I'm not even sure how to spell it.)

I think it is totally fine for adults to do it. Not saying people shouldn't. But when I think of it, it is something for my kids. Not for me.

I think Facebook is a generational thing. It's hard for most "adults" to see it as more than "another myspace thing." Me personally, I love it. I started my Facebook in college and now it keeps me in touch with people that I probably would have never spoken to again.

I keep my location and life info pretty vague. And only people who are "friends" can even see my page. I also limit what some "friends" can see.

All in all, I love it. Wish I had more time to play though. In college I would update my status every hour, but now I'm lucky to get on once a month. My school blocks it, and I don't have internet at home. Sad. :(

Doesn't appeal to me, either, so I'd probably say something like "I'm too old/too busy" when asked.

But none of my friends seem to be doing it, so I guess we're all a bunch of out of touch oldsters (mid-40s)

I don't think anyone is out of touch or old for not enjoying it. I never saw the appeal of it either. When a good friend of mine passed away in December, I wanted to get the word out to our classmates because he was very special and one of those guys that everybody loved. Quite a few of us have found comfort in reminiscing and getting back in touch, and in the process we got hooked. We have a 25 year reunion coming up (I'm on the committee) and I'm finding a lot more people than we did for our 20th!

Anyway, that's why I like it. :)

I love Facebook and was really surprised at how many people I know that are on there.

Me too, I am friends with a lot of DISERS and and they are on there A LOT!:thumbsup2 Oh, and I am 51 and joined 3 weeks ago!;)

I have NO idea which Disers you might be referring to :rolleyes1

I love it when Disers add me ;)

You can let your cousin know that there is a Dragon Wars game on Facebook. My husband (who is 43 :faint: ) plays it all the time and says it's alot like D&D.

I think it's ridiculous to say there should be an age limit on Facebook. My mother is on there for Pete's sake. She is only 53 and certainly not old. Alot of my family is on there. It's a great way to keep up with everyone.
