Alright, let's get you guys off this bus! I'm sorry that I keep stranding you on buses!
I was SO excited to be heading to Magic Kingdom for the opening ceremony. This would be my first one at the Magic Kingdom. We arrived at 8:35 and found a good spot that allowed us both a good viewing of the opening ceremonies and a good starting point for the walk to Space Mountain.
There it is! I was so happy to see that "Magic Kingdom" sign.
Soon, the trained pulled into the stations and some of my favorite friends got out. Oh, look! There are Pluto and Daisy!
They chose a family to help open the park and they had them help throw pixie dust over all of us!
I see Chip and Dale!
The opening ceremony was so cute! I loved it! I was very jealous of the family they chose to help.
Soon, it was time! We were allowed to go into the park! We walked through the Tomorrowland Terrace Noodle Station and waited at the rope at Tomorrowland. This is where the rope drop adrenaline really started to kick in! DH, DB, DSIL, and I talked excitedly about our plan of attack while my parents looked at us like we were insane. Here is a pic of all the other people waiting for them to let us into Tomorrowland. Shouldn't they still be in bed?!?
We inched our way up a little bit. If you look closely, you can see the cast members in the front holding us all back!
Then, it was time for the countdown. We counted down and walked as fast as we could without running (most of the time) to Space Mountain. Our plan was to get fastpasses first and then get in the stand-by line. And guess whose fast pass machine was broken! MINE! I have a gift for choosing the broken machines or getting in line behind the person who is getting 70 fast passes. Soon, we all had fastpasses in hand and we got in the stand-by line. We literally walked up and onto the ride.
I love Space Mountain. I should take a video of myself on it one day because I start giggling at the very beginning and I dont stop giggling until about 5 minutes after it ends. I just think its so much fun! And I love being in the front seat on Space Mountain. I gave up the front seat to my brother this time. I knew that we had fastpasses to use later, so I would get the front seat next time!
Next up was Buzz Lightyear. That was a complete walk-on. For some reason, I am TERRIBLE at this one. I cant hit those targets to save my life! I realized that DH was kicking my butt, so my strategy turned into making our little spaceship spin as much as possible so he couldnt get a good shot. It didnt work though. DH ended up with a score of 135,000. My score? A measly 35,000. DH beat me by 100,000 points. Oh well. Maybe next time!
Here are DH and me on the ride!
And my bro and SIL
The pic of my parents turned out super blurry and kinda hurts the eyes, so I won't torture you with that.
Now it was time to head over to the Mad Tea Party. I have only recently become brave enough for this ride. I always get nervous that its going to make me sick! But everyone else (except my mom and dad) was up for it, so I decided to give it a go. As we walked up to the ride, we saw that the Mad Hatter was riding with someone! He was spinning the teacup like the Wildman that he is. When their super fun ride was over, it was our turn. DH and I went in one teacup, my bro and SIL in another. Fortunately, DH was kind to me and he did not spin the teacup Mad Hatter style. We had a rather tame (lame?) tea party.
My bro and SIL, on the other hand, well, lets just say, my bro was not as kind. And my SIL was NOT happy afterwards! She got over it quickly, though, because who can stay mad at Disney World? Oh, yeah, me. On day 5. Well get to that later though
Completely off topic
my 3 best friends from high school and I are all turning 30 this year. Two of them turned 30 in Feb, I turn in August, and the other in October. Weve been talking about a 30th birthday trip for quite a while. I tried very hard to get it to be Disney World, but I was not successful. That might be a good thing because no matter how much I love those girls, I dont know if I could do Disney with all of them. Anyhow, we had a meeting today to discuss the trip. We wanted to think of a place that none of us has ever been. And we decided to do New England at the end of August. Sooo
if anyone has any suggestions for us, please send them my way!!!
Next up...Frontierland!
