And getting the house decluttered and organized!! :woohoo:

We didn't really have the money to take a real vacation this year, so I ended up with a week of vacation time left that I have to use or I'll lose it. Our company has a freeze on vacations during the "holiday months" (November through mid January), so I was forced to just pick a week and take it off! I've honestly never taken a chunk of time off work and not gone somewhere. I've taken a day or two here and there, but never a whole week.

So the week after next, I'm taking the week off. And at least the first day or two will be spent getting the house decluttered and organized. Then hopefully I'll have a few days left to just relax and enjoy it.
At first, I was dreading it. Now, I can't wait for the week to get here! I know it sounds silly, but I have all of these plans for what I want to do in each room, and I'm so excited! The closets will be cleaned out, the pantry in the kitchen will be re-organized, and OH YEAH!! I'm taking my living room back!! All (well, most) of the toys in my living room are going back to DD's room! :woohoo:
It's just so difficult to get anything done when we both work!! But once I get things organized, I figure if we make an effort to spend like 15-20 minutes every evening, it won't be too difficult to keep it up.

Anyhow, not that anyone really cares. But I just wanted to share my excitement about my upcoming vacation!! :lmao: (and I detest the word "staycation", so I refuse to call it that!!)

I am doing the exact same thing next week!

I needed some mental health time, have a week I need to get rid of because we have the same holiday freeze nor are we allowed to to take the two weeks back to back.

So I picked a week. The kids are off Fri and we are going to head to Busch Gardens for Hallowscream with my sister. The first part of the week is total cleaning and organizing.

I'll probably keep DD home one day and do something fun, but the rest of the week, she's going to preschool so I can get the house done and have some down time!!! Sometimes I really wish I could afford to be a SAHM!!

Me tooo! But honestly, I am kinda looking forward to the peace and quiet and getting my 'to do' list done. It seems like for months I have been picking up but not cleaning up much. So, I hope to get it back on track.

Here's to you having a fabulous week!

Oh come on now. Step out of your comfort zone, be a team player, think outside of the box and just use that word "staycation" :thumbsup2

I seriously need to do this. I have a lot of old bills and stuff to sort through and keep or toss. I also have to do some weeding of the kids and hubbies closets for Goodwill. And the garage......

Hope you are successful with your organization vacation!

Oraganization Vacation!!
I LOVE it!! That's what I'm going to call it!! :thumbsup2

I did this one day last week. One day is certainly not enough! But I organized my room and also my DS's room. My livingroom is another story with all his toys. I'm taking some time off next month to tackle that.

Call me weird, but that sounds like fun to me! I love to have things organized so I'm not constantly searching for this or that..

And don't forget to "crank up the music".. That will keep you motivated if you start to run out of steam..;)

Have fun! :yay:
