Im going in August to my site visit, is there anything I need to know before I go? It's just a site visit, what can I expect? :scared1: :scared:

Don't worry...it is alot of fun. I think most importantly have a good idea of what type of wedding you want.Do you want morning, afternoon, evening. Formal? Brunch? Outside like sbp or wp. Do you want a theme park reception like living seas or a ballroom? Of course you are there to see the sites but you realistically can not see all of them. We gave them a list of 4 sites we wanted to see and saw those. They a very helpful and you will love Franck's...have fun!

Like pixie08 said, go to your site visit with a clear vision of what you want your day to be. That will be especially helpful if you don't have a specific venue in mind yet. They will be able to steer you towards the right venue for the wedding day you have in mind.

Have fun. Doing the site visit is so exciting :)

Also, just to add to everyone's comments if budget is important to you, let your WP and SM know! You can plan amazing events and then just keel over when you see the price. Talk about that up front. I found that that really helped in the budget in the long run. I also came with ideas, based from here, on what I wanted. The food and flowers I really had no idea about, but I knew that I wanted my location to be the UK pavilion, reception at the CG, and an Illuminations DP. Mainly b/c of the photos. Also, I knew that I had to have Mickey and Minnie. These things made a Disney wedding for me. These things also increased my budget past what I wanted to spend, esp as my guest count grew. Just tell them to help you keep on budget and they will. My WP Diane was GREAT at it. She was honest and blunt with me which I appreciated. In the end, I paid the extra to get what I want, b/c I cut everything that I could.

When we went on our site visit, we weren't even engaged yet. But we had a feeling we would have no more than 50 guests, and we knew we wanted the WP. I didn't have a vision of anything! Our SM, Joe (loved him!!!) asked me a bunch of questions, and based on that, he knew what to show us. For example, i wanted something outdoors, but i was concerned about rain. So he showed us the Whitehall room & patio for our pre-reception, and it was perfect! i got the best of both worlds. so they will ask you questions, and take you all around! you'll have so much fun. Remember to bring a camera and a notebook take lots pictures and make notes!

good luck!

Yes like Jonette said be up front about the budget. Our EM asked us if we had any idea what range we wanted to spend and we gave her a difinitive limit (actually we told her a bit lower than we wanted so we had a bit of cushion) From there we discussed venues and menus for those venues etc.

Like everyone is saying have a good idea of what you want... Bring any pictures you like of weddings from cakes to flowers even dresses...it will help them guide you in the right direction....And I guess unlike everyone else we sat down and planned our dream wedding anything and everything we could possibly imagine....then once the number came (had our little heart attack) then made cuts from there....But most of all have fun with it....

I would say no to the deposit but you may want to bring it in case? this is why i say no....In order for Disney to except the deposit you have to sign a contract which means you have to be after the year mark for an in park wedding and at the 8 month mark for a convention center. Then they will draft up a contract and you will sign and send the deposit. They can pencil you in for your date at the one year mark but it takes a while for things to get rolling. This is just my opinion!

They can provide you with sample menus for the venue(s) you are interested in, and you can look at photography books, but planning "details" will happen after you sign your contract. But it never hurts to ask questions then if you have them....We asked A TON of questions!!!!!

This is a great thread. I'm glad you asked the questions! Have a wonderful visit Sarah! Be sure to tell us all about it when you get back!
