Well our trip is cancelled. We started to drive down to the tunnel last night but our car broke down and we had to get towed home. Having looked at the travel and weather reports though it was probably for the best. I phoned Disney this morning and we have lost all our money. Oh well, I hope others going soon have better luck.

oh am sooooooo sorry to hear that  can u not change ur holiday or get any money back as its not ur fault??

what a start to xmas for u:sad2:

I feel so sorry for you. Isn't there any way you can claim some of the money back?

Disney said that we have to try to reclaim it through our credit card and travel insurance. DH is on the phone to them now.

Sorry to hear that you have to cancel your trip Karen:hug:, hope you manage to get your money back.

Hope you have a fab christmas with all your family:thumbsup2

I so sorry hear this sad news. Hope you manage to sort out the refund through your insurance company.

Would they not transfer your booking to another date?

Oh no Karen, how disappointing! I hope you get some of your money back from your insurance etc

Oh no I am SO sorry for you :( I am really concerned about our trip on Monday and am thinking about calling it off - what were the roads like on your journey down? Fingers crossed that your insurance pays out - they should.

They would let me re book using the same offer but we would have had to pay the whole amount again. Having spoken to our insurance we should get some money back. At least I still have my summer trip to Australia to look forward to.

So sorry to hear your trip was cancelled. Ours was the same on 29th November. At first they said we would not get any money back but eventually we got to transfer our booking to another date. When I spoke to reservations they said they decide on a day by day basis re the weather and do sometimes let people rebook as a gesture of good will.

Try emailing dlp.uk.admin@disney.com put in the email about British airports being closed, eurostar problems etc and ask.

I had just left it until Mum to Belle posted to say she had got a rebooking, it took a few days to get a reply but we are all sorted for our next trip now without losing out on excess to insurance co.

Hope it works out

Wendy

Thanks for that idea Wendy, I will send them an email later today. If not hopefully we will be able to get some of the money back through our insurance and will be able to re book for Febuary half term.

I really hope everything works out for you and you can re-schedual for next year.

My insurance company are now saying that we need to get cancelation certificates so we can file a claim for them to consider. But as our crossing wasn't actually cancelled (even though they were telling people not to travel) we aren't hopeful.
