I came to the boards this morning becauase I saw quite a few comercials yesterday for ROTM.

I've been excited about this ride, but I guess I didn't read about it closely enough until just now. I didn't realize it is a coaster :(. I don't know what exactly I was thinking, but I wasn't thinking coaster!

I HATE coasters. I haven't been on the ones at Universal, well, unless you count Woody Woodpecker and the unicorn, lol! I have been on the ones at Disney.

Can anyone tell me, as far as the coaster part goes, is it fast like RNR at Disney or is it more like Space Mountain? I can't stand the 0-60 take off at RNR, for me, that ruined the whole ride. It gave me chest pains because I felt like I lost my breath. Is the take-off as bad?

I'm wondering how I can experience all the special effects if I am going fast and have my eyes closed?

I really want to ride this, but I'm really afraid of it now!

It is very similar to Space Mountain, in that it is more about banked curves and twisting than speed. You do not blast off like in Rock N Roller Coaster at MGM, instead you are pulled somewhat slowly up the first hill. You do not go upside down. Basically, I'd say it is like Space Mountain with more themeing and special effects like fire and mummys, etc. And the first minute or so of the ride is not a roller coaster - it is more like a ride through automated robots and such.

My husband is not a roller coaster fan and he loved it. We rode it twice on Monday. So don't worry - give it a try. If he could do it I know you could.
