I should be very excited, and i was over the weekend, but now i'm super stressed, I'm off tomorrow so i'll be packing and doing laundry etc... but i feel really weird, and i can't even eat, maybe its because its out first trip with DD and i feel like anything can happen and i'm scared that i won't be prepared!!! can anyone help me easy my anxiety?

thanks

First of all, breathe! Your going to the most happiest place on earth, relax! ;) I'd make a list of everything you need to pack, that way you won't have that looming feeling of "I'v forgotten something". Write a list of everything you need to have taken care of at your house,ie. mail,alarms,pets.etc.I always feel a list helps me to SEE. When everything is crossed off, I can breathe better. You guys are gonna do fine. DD will have a blast! Spreading some Pixi Dust your way...... :wizard:

I'm actually printing off some packing lists as i write this so that i can go over it tomorrow!!
I don't why i'm so nervous i just wish i was there already!!

Thanks again

hi there - i remember seeing your post in a thread about packing. we're leaving early wed morning for akl & I completely know what you mean about being stressed. i'm telling myself this is a vacation, to the happiest place on earth, we're so lucky to be going - but still there is the rock in my stomach!! i think i feel totally responsible for my family having the time of their life - dh, ds's 6 & 5 and dd 19 mos. did i do enough research? is my itinerary going to maximize our relatively short trip? will we have good weather? blah, blah, blah. ok, i know i didn't help you but i feel better now. maybe i'll go pack something. feel free to check in when you're packing tomorrow, i'll be doing the same thing. good luck!

You girls are totally going to laugh when you come back. All this stress, and your GOING to have a vacation of a lifetime. It's Disney World....sprinkling some more Pixi Dust your way....... :wizard:

Just remember you are going to Walt Disney World. If you forget anything you can certainly purchase it down there so you stop fretting about packing.

Now for the trip itself you must remember Walt Disney World isn't going anywhere! You won't be able to see it all in one trip so you might as well take it slow and enjoy the magic. You can't even see the magic if you're rushing from here to there trying to see it all. When I took my DD(then 3 1/2) for the first time I wanted to show her the "world". On the first day she (who was so shy she wouldn't talk at school) ran right up to the Penguins from Mary Poppins saying "the Penguins need to give Lizzie a hug...". There was no one else around and yet I took a quick photo and rushed her to get on the carosel. Well we missed the carosel anyways and I very quickly realized that I just shouldn't be rushing through our vacation. I was also 6 months pregnant so I just couldn't run around like I did pre-kid trips. It was a very magical trip with lots of wonderful memories. We never even made it to Animal Kingdom that trip-chose to spend another day at MK instead. My DD now 5 1/2 still has memories of the trip.

Enjoy your magical trip with you DD!!!

Ever since I became a parent, I developed what I call 'trip anxiety'. For some reason I panic right before a trip about packing (even if it is a weekend or day trip). Finally, I started to tell myself that whatever I might forget, I can always buy somewhere!! The lists help, but it is just so much to remember when traveling with kids. Once you get there, it will all be fine and you will have the time of your life. Enjoy!!!

Disney is hands down the easiest place we have traveled with our kids (who are now 9 and 12 but only 3 and 6 our first big trip which was to WDW!)

The whole place is geared for families. You can buy anything you need there. The food is very kid friendly. The Disney CM's are knowledgeable and friendly and it is their job to help out, don't be afraid to ask.

Just take it easy and don't try to "see it all". On our first trip I was all hyper and commando about "doing everything in the guidebook" but it turns out my kids favorite thing about Disney was swimming in the Poly pool. :rotfl2: We never made it to MGM that year and only spend about 3 hours at Epcot before returning to the pool! Did I mention their second fav thing was riding the monorail... endlessly! :earboy2:

Relaxe and enjoy, wish I was going there this week!!!!

Sorry you're feeling the anxiety...I hope your trip is magical though! Sending some pixie dust your way~~~~~
