I'm still confused about the A side and the B side for ME

I've looked at some of the posts, but I still don't get it. I know you need to be on the B side and level one to get to Disney Magical Express. I know you need to take the tram; once, you are off the plane. Once you take the tram, how do you know not to go to the "A" side? Are these A and B sides marked?

Say, you are on the B side when you get off your plane on level three of the airport. Now, you take the tram, then what? Do you go left or right to get to get to the correct DME elevators for level one? We'll be using Airtran. Do you need to use a escalator at any time? If you are lucky enough to find the correct elevator and get to level one, then what? Do you go left or right from the elevator to get to the Magical Express check-in line?

If I missed this somplace already posted please direct me. I just need more explicit instructions. I need instructions for Dummies, please. TIA

Which airline are you flying?

I need more help, here. Like are there landmarks to find the correct elevator on level 3, B side, such as go towards/pass this restaurant, this shop, etc. to get to the correct, Disney elevator.

Once you are down on level 1, what will you see first to know you are going the right way towards DME. Again, are there landmarks of any kind?

She's on Airtran.....the pictures in the thread up top will tell her what gate area she comes in on with Airtran.

Look at the sticky up top; a Newbie's guide to MCO.......

I looked at the schematics, too. I get it somewhat but I'm looking for a more sure proof stategy not to get lost.

I saw one post that stated if you look upwards you will see signage to know that you are on the B side or the A side. Is that signage everywhere or only in a few choice places?

I posted on another post, here what it is that I'm truly looking for with hints, etc.

I want something idiot proof. I want to have a way to recognize I made a wrong turn or something. I want a more step by step approach. It doesn't have to be quite as bad as take 10 steps straight, then take a left turn and now take 20 more steps, etc. but I just think landmarks would help. I know landmarks can change, but it can be updated as it changes.

If I'm asking for too much I'm sorry. I'm trying to direct older people who will need more help.

Airtran baggage is on the B side which is where you go. DME is also on the B side of the terminal. So all you have to do is go from the third floor to the first floor and if you use escalators turn right on the first floor to the end of the building for DME. If you use the elevators, when you get to the fisrst floor turn left and go to the end of the building..

Quite frankly, I get lost every time. It takes me a few minutes, since I only fly down there once a year. There is no fool proof method to getting around the airport.

The A and B side are clearly marked. Once you get there, you have to walk the length of the airport and find the escalators to get down to the lower levels; the elevator is near that. It is not a disney elevator. If they get lost, they can always ask someone.

a video showing how to go to DME from the B side and the A side. Maybe, a video spanning left and right while walking to show where to go, what you pass and what's next, etc. A talking video would even be better along the way.

I think in this case written words and schematics just don't do it for some of us. If I was flying I would do the video, but I'm not. Maybe, someone will be kind enough some day to provide a visual demo video of how to do this from beginning to end.

Thanks everyone for trying here. I'll do my best with what I have here. I know I did this a couple of years ago myself at the airport and I survived. I do know after a certain point I think it was when I was going towards the elevator that there wasn't really anyone there to ask about it. I got lucky and I caught a family (dressed with Disney t-shirts, etc.) that new what to do; so, I followed them.

I think if you go more often you get it; for us others who go every now and then, it's not something that sticks with you well enough to remember or describe good enough to someone else.

After you get off the plane, you'll take the shuttle/monorail to the main terminal (you'll have no choice in that - just follow the flow of people). Once you are there, follow the baggage claim signs and then the escalators down to the A side and B side have huge glowing signs over them telling you which side is which. Stop and look both directions first. Go towards the side with the big glowing green B. Then take the escalators or elevators all the way down. There's nothing along the escalators to help you feel like you're going in the right direction - but you are. :thumbsup2

When you get off the tram from your gate area, you will walk out into a big central area...I tend to think of this as a central area of MCO. So, if you're flying Airtran, you'll walk out into that central area, where the hotel is. (those arriving at gates 1-59 will see shops, not the hotel). Stay to the left. If you look up, to either side, you will see big Side A and Side B signage, in neon. Side B will be to your left. Go down the escalator or stairs, to level 2..baggage claim. Then, down again on the elevators to level 1..ground transportation. Go all the way to the left and to the end..you'll see DME at the end after all the rental car counters and the Mears counter.
It really is very easy.

I agree; the first few years I did the land/sea package and you were greeted by the Disney Cruise line. They walked us over to the Cruise Line desk.

It has been hit or miss with me for the Disney Staff on the third level to the first level.

Last time, the woman was there at the third level and motioned to the one escalator and said just get on the next escalator down to the first level. I walked the entire length of the second floor both ways and never did see the escalator. I went back up to where I thought she was, and she was already gone. I finally found the elevators, and have used them ever since.

I am always fine until I get where you have to go from three to one, and then I get completely flummoxed....but I usually end up finding it!

.

Follow the signs that say GROUND TRANSPORTATION. No problem! :thumbsup2
