My mum has had her wing mirror pulled off countless times. She went to visit my grandfather in hospital once and while she was finding a parking spot (ie still in the car!), some escaped psychiatric patient decided he wanted her mirror for himself....so he had it! She ran after him and reported him to the reception desk, he was soon taken back to the ward and she got her mirror back, but no form of compensation for getting it reattached (he hadn't just pulled it off cleanly, he'd snapped the pegs that connect it to the car). As you can imagine she was pretty fuming.
Two weeks later she was shopping in Sainsburys and someone took her mirror off again, looked like it was done by a careless parking driver, but sods law it should happen again so soon!
