He gets to go to Alaska for a business trip. I want to go with (yes, I'm pouting ;) ). Airfare is just outrageous though and we'll never have a shot at frequent flyer miles since the trip is too soon.

I've been jealous of a couple of his trips before, but this one might be the worst. It was rumored he might be going to Hawaii, I wouldn't have let him go alone on that one :)

I guess we'll get to Alaska together someday, I'm just jealous he gets to go now.

Anyone else with a spouse that travels - have you ever been jealous of their destinations? Not to mention the great restaurants they get to eat at! :)

My husband travels but not that far! I would be in his suitcase if he tried togo to Alaska without me!!!

my ex used to travel all the time. back then though, i was a travel agent so i was able to get awesome deals to tag along...assuming the destination interested me. ;) because of his various conventions, i got to go to hawaii!! that was wonderful...maui is such a beautiful island! and another time i got to do southern california...so of course, we hit DL...and then he did orlando once...and did you really think i wouldn't tag along on that one?

my new DH doesn't travel much, well, yet anyway. they di have an office in jacksonville that there's talk of him having to visit, but other than that, that's it...

My husband travels all the time. He just got back from the Netherlands. We joke about it all the time. He says oh yea thats right I get to travel. And I tell him that someone has to be the responsible adult and stay home. I do get to travel with him some but it has been a while. And I do get the benefits sometimes when he gets free tickets due to being bumped. But it is fun to tease him about it. He says it gets old traveling all the time. he has been to Orlando several times lately and that just isn't fair.

My DH travels some but only to Chicago. One of these days I might go with him, I could go to one of their meets :) Maybe if one comes up at a good time I will.

The places my husband travels to are places that I might very well get myself killed, so no, I don't get jealous. :p This American woman is definately not meant for the Middle East, I have a feeling with my big mouth I'd be jailed within hours of being there. :p

But Alaska, that is cool! Shop around, maybe you'll find something affordable!

Yes, I have a DH who travels extensively and I have to admit I do get jealous! I have always been the one who WANTS to travel...he is really a homebody...He's been all over lately and is back in So. Calif. where we are originally from as we speak. Boo Hoo I miss my mom and my DD as they are still there. I can't really go with him all that much as our DS is in school.

We've taken a few trips though...I've been to Hawaii but he worked the whole time so it was like a solo trip, went to Atlantic City and Philadelphia to see the Liberty Bell and Valley forge, went to Niagra Falls, and to St. Louis where I am from originally those were really all great trips!

Alaska is one of the places I would really like to see...along with about 20 other places! lol

so I say go ahead and pout! You deserve it!
Holycow

My husband travels about 4-6 times/year. I NEVER get to go with him. He doesn't get to go to any exotic places or anything, just Memphis, Atlanta and Charlet...there is talk of them having to go to Austraila now though. A couple of the guys in his department have already been so he'll probably have to go eventually. That's when I'll really get jealous.

DH travels for work also. I get jealous when he calls and says he's been to some nice place to eat and I'm having mac & cheese or some other "kid" food. But on the bright side we do usually get upgrades at hotels to Club level and we have lots of FF miles!

Well I can relate...
Last week Dh traveled to NYC then they hopped the Amtrak to DC...
To rub it in he called me from "in front" of the White House.:p

My DH has traveled 3 or 4 times on business. It is not a common thing when you work for city government, but he went to Vancouver, Washington, DC, and Toronto and somewhere else to look at a huge computer system the city was considering buying.

Since his trips were always only 2 or 3 nights the only one I was really tempted about was Vancouver and since it fell two days after we got back from a 3-week trip to Europe, I decided to skip it.

Gene is going to California next week for work. I want to go along and play at Disneyland while he's working.

I totally understand. DH was sent to Alaska a few years ago for 2 weeks. I wanted to go sooooooo badly. Nope. He'ld be busy & couldn't spend time with me. (So what? I just wanted to go to Ketchikan, Alaska!!!!)

He travels alot. Right now, he's in Helena, Montana. A state I would love to live in -- or at least have a vacation home. A bit far from MA I know. I begged & pleaded to go. Nope. I just wanted to see the Rockies!!!! I pouted the whole day before he left.

He doesn't get it!!!! Instead, he asks if I wanted to go with him to Washington state next month.....or Virginia month after that.

LISTEN TO ME, MAN _____ I'm telling ya WHERE I want to go!!!!

Ooooohhh I'm jealous too!!!!! I'll pout with you Tamie.

I'm the one who usually travels for work, and so far I have been to Philadelphia, Tampa 2x, and Ft. Lauderdale once. (I managed to sneak 2 days at WDW onto the FLL trip. :teeth: )

DW co-hosted some tour groups to London and New York, so her trip was comped. She did have to put up with some cranky tourists, but she went to England 3 times without me!

travels. The only place Chris wanted to go to was San Fran. Well and Tampa this past week. He is comming down to Orlando with me in October.

DH is in Puerto Rico right now.
I don't get jealous because I used to be the one who travelled a lot - and I know very well that "the grass is greener!"
It was nice to travel on the company's dime, but after a while I'd rather be home in my own bed. I know DH is thinking the same thing now (or maybe he's at the casino.....I don't know:rolleyes: :D )

DH is in construction management, so he is literally never home. I hate it, especially, as someone said when he calls after some four star meal in a four star restaraunt and giggles that I'm doing veggi bergers again.

*sigh*

DS is 7 now and we are thinking seriously of homeschooling for a year just so we can see the world with him. (Or at least the country)

He's only in Indianapolis right now, but he still called the night of the lunar eclipse, and was watching it over the city. He said it was the most gorgeous landscape he had ever seen.

As usual it was cloudy here.

GRRRRRR...

Jealous...Heck yes I get jeleaous!!

;)

DH has been to England, Northern Ireland, Australia (2 times), Hawaii (several times), Seattle, San Diego, Jacksonville, Ft Lauderdale, near Sanibel Island, Bath Maine, all many times, basically a lot of places with out me. I have been to Hawaii, Alaska, the Bahamas, Mexico, and WDW countless times with out him. I would have loved to been with him several times, but we have 2 dogs that we won't board (one is blind) so we manage to travel with out each other. All of his trips were business, mine have been both. We have gone to Vegas together and alone, too. But I am never jealous of his trips because all he does is work, and even if I was with him, he would only have worked, had dinner, slept, and done it again the next day.
