I'm so excited, balance due today!

I'm so excited because the balance is due today for our Disney trip. It just makes it feel so much closer to our trip.

I'll be calling them when they open and putting it on my Disney Visa. I'm booking for 3 families on my card so hopefully I will get enough points to take everyone out to dinner plus I have a few points already. Does anyone know how long it will take for me to get my points so I can call and have them sent to me?

I paid fro my trip with Disney Visa. It took until the next statement to see the rewards from it. I had already ordered the rewards card, so that as soon as the rewards posted from trip payoff, I got online and transferred them right away. Along with other purchases, I now have $150 to spend on the card.

Thanks for the reply but I won't have time to wait until the next statement. The statement will come just before we leave. So I need to call and find out the points and have them send the card. If I wait a few days and call Visa and the charged amount is on there I should have my points right? This is confusing since I have never done this before.

No, points are rewarded when the statement closes. You don't have to wait to receive the statement in the mail though, you can see it on your account on the website a day or 2 after the statement closes. If you already have at least 20 points now, you can order the rewards card with that. Then as soon as the statement closes, assuming you'll have more than 10 points to transfer, then you can transfer the rest of the points online or by phone. Hope the timing works out for you!

Just make sure you order your rewards card in enough time to get it. I think it says 2 to 4 weeks in the mali. I think I got mine sooner

I am so naive. I thought the balance was due when you got there. Are we talking the balance on your resort or package? When is the balance due? Thanks.

Isn't it funny how we look forward to our Disney balance? When's the last time you were so excited about paying a bill?

You can also get a card at DTD at a little kiosk if you didn't get it before your trip. Also you can call and have the points transferred while on vacation. On our last trip, my statement closed while we were driving down there. I called a couple days later from DTD while standing in front of World of Disney and had them transfer the points. Then I walked into the store to use them. Be sure if you do this that whomever is the primary card holder is there at the time. My DH is the primary holder and I have a card from his account. So they wouldn't let me transfer the points, DH had to give his "approval". (Funny, they don't need his approval on the checks I send in for payment!)

If you book a package, the balance is due 45 days in advance. If you book a room only, your balance is due when you check in. I have no idea when it's due if you do room only and then buy tickets but don't have a "package" - as I have avoided doing that so far because I'm paying weekly and I prefer to add on the tickets closer to the date, rather than paying 45 days in advance. (there's a lot of $$ earning in that last month!)

I am also a little confused . After you get this card you can use it just like a gift card? For food, gifts ,etc?

I bought a package so it is due 45 days prior to arrival.

Yes, you can use it like a gift card. I plan on using it for meals @ WDW.
