I guess you'd call me a yoyo dieter. I can lose it, but can't keep it off. Twice before, I've come here, lost the weight, ran off and started eating too much again, so of course I regained it as fast as I lost it. But now I just found out I have borderline high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and a BWI that makes me overweinght. So Drs orders-I really ought to lose 20 pounds. And I don't think he means lose it, but then find it right away again this time.
In September I go to WDW on the DDP, so I need to start losing NOW. I seem to do well when I join challenges, group efforts, etc. Can anyone help a yoyo?
 
Welcome back, Simba's Mom--your story could be my story, except I have more to lose than you. I lose, leave the support behind, and gain. I too am starting back. Good luck with you new beginning.
 
It's almost like I'm reading my own story!! I can lose weight too, but the maintaining is another story!! I just joined WISH yesterday. Hopefully we can help each other!! :goodvibes

Been there done that doing it again. I do well at loosing it's the keeping it off I have trouble with. 2 years ago I made it to my WW goal of 132. Gained over the winter and got to 136 by end of June 2005. Went to Las Vegas to Visit my mom, 2 weeks at WDW and a long weekend in Tennesse/Alabama (all from 4th of July weekend to Labor Day weekend) and I struggled up and down during those two months. Then when I came back I just let it come back on till I was in the mid 150's again. I kept saying that I was going to take it off from Jan-April but I couldn't get serious. Then in May I got in the groove and have gotten down to 143. Still not where I wanted to be at the end of June, but it's better than in the mid 150's.

So now it's time to the same summer vacations. Next week I have a week in Alabama & Tennessee. MY mom and Step dad are flying in from Vegas and we are flying to meet them in Tennessee. Then it's 16 nights in Disney and an extended trip to Las Vegas over Labor Day. I hope I don't baloon up again. Somehow I need to learn to splurge on my vacactions and get back into the groove and continue to loose or maintain. I just don't know why I can do so well sometimes and other times its such a struggle.
 

I can relate to everyone's story. I was doing pretty well (for me at least) at the beginning of the year; losing weight, exercising, journaling. Then I got tired of it and slacked off big time. I've decided to take it easy until I take my last vacation of the year in October, then start up again. I applaud anyone who can stick with an eating and exercise plan day after day. :cheer2:
 
It's like I have found people who know what I go through!! :goodvibes :grouphug: I'm a :yo-yo: dieter also!!

But I am trying to post more often on this board and I have started a
journal which is pretty fun and so far so good. Check out my journal if you want! I just know how much better I am going to feel and how disappointed with myself I get every time I mess up! So I don't want to do that anymore.

just home from a 9 day or so vacation and i'm fluffy -- i have lost and regained and am struggling to lose it again --- you are not alone!! thank heavens we are in this together!
 
Welcome back! We all do need each other. It is a lifestyle change that will keep it the way it is necessary. The D-word is baaad. However, if you can work on making those healthy choices instead of using the D-word it might be the key to strive to reach for healthy choices as a lifestyle.

I WISH you luck. If you get that key, I could use your help to support my journey there too.

July 5th is my return to those healthy choices - I just returned from that same vacation with ohMom and my goal is to get off the "extra" before our Las Vegas girls trip end of Sept.

I am struggling with some "failing" body parts (back and hip problems) so am going to take the exercising at a slow by steady pace and see how it goes.

It's summertime (yes even in Ohio) so it's lots of fresh fruits and veggies for me!

I am really going to work on getting de-sugared (once again) and hopefully that will get me into the part of my closet I haven't been visiting lately - yep the side with the smaller sizes :banana:

WISHing all of you much success - positive thinking is the first step - YES -YES- YES - we can do it!!!!
 
I guess you can call me a 3rd timer too. I lost 50 (to get 20 below pre preggo weight) to get preggo with my 3rd. I slowy gained wiegh nursing again and ended up gaining 20plus back after baby. Lost 20 with WW while nursing and slowly gaining that same 20 back. Grrr...I actually want to get down to 150 but that will have to be next goal.
