Wishes, Illuminations, Electric Parade,...? :confused3

Where are they? What are they? When are they?

Is there more than one parade? Are the fireworks at the same time?

Do they all show year round, or just during peak season?

We will be there during the second week of October 2006.

Help please!

Thanks!

Okay....Wishes and Spectromagic are at MK. The Electric Parade is no longer.

Illuminations is at Epcot

Fantasmic is at MGM.

You can get a schedule of when things happen day by day at:

http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wd...darHome?id=MKCalendarParkHoursMonthlyViewPage

"Wishes" is the nighttime fireworks show at the MK. The Electrical Water Pageant is on the lake, and can be viewed from WL, GF, CR and Ft. Wilderness. Spectromagic is also at the MK, and is a nighttime parade with floats covered in lights.
Illuminations is Epcot's fireworks show, it is shown every night.
Fantasmic is MGM's nighttime show, featuring live performers, lasers, fireworks, water screens, fire effects and more. Check the park hours for times for all these shows at the home page of the DIS. www.wdwinfo.com
hope that helps!

Hi Kirstin's Mommy!

I too am Kirstyn's Mommy only I chose a y instead of an i. My Kirstyn is 15 .. Your's looks a little bit younger ... Nice choice in names!

Wishes are fireworks at Magic Kingdom and Spectromagic is an electrical parade at Magic Kingdom. You can see these on the same night if you pick a night when both are showing. Do not miss either!lol

Illuminations is the big night time show at Epcot World Showcase that happens every night at 9 o'clock. Do not miss this either!

Fantasmic! is the big night time show at MGM that is of course also a do not miss.

You just have to see them on different nights although I did manage to see both Illuminations and Fantasmic on the same night once. ILL was at 9 and Fantasmic at 10 so we saw ILL then hopped on the boat at the international gateway and went and caught Fantasmic. Barely.

You really need to sign up for Tourguide Mike! You won't be sorry. The link is at the top of this forum.

Hi! My Kirstin is almost 7, so a bit younger than yours. I thought my spelling was unique until I saw yours! It's so hard to find anything with her name on it, everyone spells it with an "e". She gets called Kiersten (keersten), Kristen, you name it. This past year in kindergarten her teacher had to give her a sticker every time she said her name wrong! :teeth:

My daughter get's that all the time .. even my sister used to get it wrong at times!

I have a question about Wishes and Spectromagic, are they in the same area? I checked the schedule for MK and it seems if we go on EMH Wishes runs twice (9, and 11) and Spectromagic runs only once (10). So if I get a seat for Spectromagic at 10 and want to stay there for Wishes at 11 is that possible to stay at the same location and see both events?

Usually that's the other way around...Spectro runs twice and Wishes once. They'll bookend Wishes with Spectro...the first running of Spectro will be much more crowded than the second.

Same area is relative...you can see Spectro from a number of places as it runs down Main St. USA, through the hub in front of the castle, through Liberty Square, then finishes through Frontierland.

Wishes you can see from anywhere in front of the castle...Main St. USA, Hub area, bridget to Tomorrowland, etc. You can see it from behind the castle, too, but watching it from there your head looks like you're watching a tennis match. :)

When I was there in March, Spectro ran twice and wishes once.

We went to see the first Spectro. We sat on the sidewalk of Mainstreet, in front of the castle. Then, after the parade was over, we moved into the road and watched Wishes.

It worked very well for us.

Opps, I must have gotten the two confused (on which one runs twice). I'm just looking to find a spot where we can stay to see both events because there will be 6 of us including a 7 year old that might be a little tired and unwilling to move to far to see the second show. Hopefully we will be able to find a place on Main Street to see both events. Thanks!

Thanks to all! This has been very helpful.

I am definitely going to check out Tour Guide Mike. You see so many ads on every Disney site it is tough to decide on which ones are good!

We are going in October as well for the Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. This takes place at the Magic Kingdom on certain nights and requires seprate admission. If you dont plan on attending this party, make sure to plan your MK day around these scheduled events. On nights of the MNNSHP, MK closes at 5pm. It re-opens at 7pm for those of us who purchased the Halloween tix. On these nights, they do not have Spectromagic parade or Wishes fireworks. They have the Boo To You Parade and HalloWishes Fireworks. Just a heads up. All the shows IMO are spectacular!
