I wasn't when I got here. Why do people go on vacation when they're ill. My DH got me some medicine at the Pop Century store last night and another man was buying his wife medicine also.

I'm sorry your sick. We went through it 5 years ago and by the end all 4 of us had it. Hope you start to feel better.

Oh, I'm so sorry you are not feeling well. Last year, our DD got sick literally as we were pulling in at POR. She was FINE, then, as we pulled up, she said she didn't feel too good. She was burning up! We alternated ibuprofen and Tylenol around the clock for 4 days! It helped, but she still didn't feel GOOD. And then I got it! Not as bad as her though. I still feel sorry for her for not getting to enjoy that trip as much as she should have.......:sad2:

I hope you feel better FAST and get to enjoy your trip!

So sorry to hear this!!! Hoping for a speedy recovery for you. We leave in 4 days and my 10 yr old daughter was not feeling well today. Yikes! Lots of orange juice, sleep & positive thoughts.

Thank you to everyone for the good thoughts. I sent my DH & DS to the parks. While I was in bed sick on Friday. Before you think me an angel, they were actually getting on my nerves. (I'm not a good "patient".) My fever broke Friday night and I could actually swallow yesterday without wincing. Today, Sunday, we're sitting at the airport about to fly home. This is going to be a painful flight.

So sorry to hear you are sick. I have come down with a cold the last 3 trips to Disney!
We were just there end of Nov/beg of Dec, and I am still fighting a nasty cough.
I'm guess a lot of people don't know they are contagious when they are first coming down with something. By the time you know you are sick, it's too late to stay home.

The worst part for me is having people at home tell me that "maybe you shouldn't go to Disney if you keep getting sick".....NOooooooo! :( I'm planning another trip in May, and my odds of staying well aren't looking too good, LOL! But I'll go and try my luck anyway...
Please feel better soon, and hang in there. You'll have your Disney memories to get you through it, right? :)

Sorry you became ill while on vacation. Hope you at least had some good days, and that your son enjoyed himself!

Sorry to hear that you're feeling sick! DH used to get sick on almost every WDW trip for years and we used to blame it on the airplane air but later found that he had a cyst in his sinus and once that was removed he traveled much healthier.

I've always felt that we rush around doing double-time to get ready for trips and then many of us tour commando style at Disney so illness catches up with us on vacation.

We just got back on Tuesday from 8 days at WDW and Universal and DS got a terrible cold while we were at the Poly. He was absolutely miserable and he is an adult. Luckily I carry Benadryl etc. so that helped him. For the flight home we bought Coricidin and he's finally starting to feel better today.

Good luck and hope things improve!

So sorry to hear!!! We were there for 8 days in September. Around day 5, I started with a horrible cough. Around day 7, I came down with a fever and I was completely shot for the rest of day 7 and 8. When I got home on day 8, I went to the doctor and was diagnosed with pneumonia.:sad2: I dropped $10 for a tiny bottle of cough syrup in the POR gift shop just to get through the last couple days. It was the worst! And wouldn't you know, here it is Christmas time and I have a sinus infection! Can't I get sick during a week where I have nothing going on??

Hope you get to feeling better soon, and can enjoy some of your trip!!!!

Hopefully you're feeling 100% soon! It's awful to get sick on vacation especially at Disney. :headache:
We went thru this last week while we were there. My youngest son got sick on Thursday the 15th, poor guy & we'd been there since Saturday the 10th. Throwing up, fever, achey, it was rough.

Oh no!! I had a horrible head cold when I went to DL.. it was terrible and almost ruined my trip. After that experience, two months before we leave I go on germ watch. I am sanitizing everything, wont go near sick people, taking vitamins, drinking juice... AND the most important thing, I pack every single dang thing I would need IF i got sick.. seems if your prepared you never need it lol.

It is really terrible to be sick at Disney World. The last time I went it was me my girlfriend and my mom, and I had gotten extremely sick about six weeks before our trip I went to the doctor three different times. I had this pnuemonia that would not get better. It was probably the sickest I have been in my life. BUT I was determined not to let it take my trip to Disney World away, as it got closer my girlfriend and my mom started to get it to, which was weird because pnuemonia doesn't always spread like that. We all struggled through 8 days and it was ugly, we were pale and sweaty. We had to stop and gasp for air every three steps it seemed. Before we came I had been told that we weren't contagious because we had been through several rounds of antibiotics at this point. After going through bottles and bottles of cough syrup and all kinds of other medicines, we finally went to the doctor again when we got home and it turned out that we all had whooping cough. Let me tell you whooping cough sucks. It lasts close to a year and the dangerous part about it is that adults in their mid twenties on up are at severe risk for it because their childhood vaccines have worn off and they didn't know it. Now I tell everyone I know about the need to get vaccinated for it as an adult because I would never want anyone to have to go through that.

Oh no! :( I have to admit that this is a huge fear of mine. My niece had strep throat when my mom and stepdad took her to Disney. Poor thing had to stay in the hotel the whole time. I hope you feel better soon!

UGh! That is one of my biggest fears ,getting sick on Vacay.Hopefully it passes fast .

HOpe you feel better soon. We normally all come home with a cold no matter what I do to try and avoid it (clean everything down, extra vitamins, etc). I have learned to travel with medicine. This year though, during our first day, dd got strep. We stayed in the room and got antibotics, within 3 doses, she was back to herself ready to go.

My DH and I both got sick on our second to last day last Easter. We split the days. I stayed in bed and he took the kids to AK. He was so happy to let them ride Exp Everest 7 times in a row. he slept on one of the rocks out front waiting for them to get tired. They came home early afternoon and I took the kids to the pool while he crawled into bed.
Drove home the next day and immediately went to the med stop. We both had strep. Doc did say mine looked a lot worse than hubby's LOL

:cheer2:Last year i got an awful dose. Started with a rhinitis but flared into a full blown Bronchitis. Rang housekeeping for extra pillows to stay upright. But sure enough went to the medicine bag...paracetamol/stroids/antibiotic/inhalers. The works. So if you are in OKW last week of june irst 2 weeks of july we will be there again this year with an abundance of medicinal remedies.e

On our trip in Jan 2011 I got sick immediately after eating breakfast at Tusker House. 3 days out of our 10 I was in bed throwing up.
Very upsetting
