Forgot to add that our family (on the Texas coast) always fills their bathtubs with water when a hurricane is coming just in case their utilities are temporarily shut off or the water is deemed "unclean" (which has happened to them before).

The older I get the more nervous I get when it comes to storms. Maybe it's called being a mother!

I live west of Atlanta and right now it is raining...hard at times. We've had several tornado warnings around the area (one in the county next to where I live). My daughter is at home with the neighbor (school was closed today). I'm really ready to get home to her. My mother had already called me to inform me of the conditions at home. She said the wind is horrible. Even my husband has called and said I need to start making my way towards home. I work a hour away.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you as well as everyone else in the path of the storm. Unfortunately, there is no need to worry because there is nothing you can do. Just stay calm and hug your children when you see them. That will make you feel a lot better.

You should be OK.
Currently watching Channel 46 (local news) and most of the tornado activity is that red ban just below Atlanta. Around Peachtree City. But heading our way, I think. DD is starting to freak, although it's just lightly raining now.

We have had the tornado watches and warnings all day. I "think" they are subsiding some. Great gusts of wind at times too. I have been terrified.

Amanda - the radar looks like you have made it through the worst of the storm. It is just beginning to get worse here. Wait until you are comfortable to go get your little one. Your sitter sounds wonderful.
