Yesterday, I wrote a 6 page bulleted report on what we are doing at each park, times we are getting up and attractions will visit and in what order. Ok, so, now I think I've just gone overboard, lol. I'm thinking, will this actually be a vacation??? I've never been one to go with the flow, kind of person...I just need to mellow out a little bit. But I'm just so :hyper: about everything :rotfl:
And I've still got 35 days to go........ :upsidedow

Never underestimate the power of the pleasure you get from being organized. Some people find the 'details' relaxing.

I bet we'd have about 85% of the DISers posting there.

My first trip: I bought my sister the book on WDW with kids. She highlighted, made notes, etc. She mapped out a plan everyday and then I was in charge of getting the maps and planning our route around the parks. Very organized...and still had a great time.

Now I'm planning for just hubby and I...and I'm waiting for my 2006 UnO Guide and Passporter to get really organized.

I plan activities but then be prepared to be flexible. And it is nice when others have the flexibility too.

Ok, but I'm not the secretary for the meetings, I've got enough going on with disney :rotfl:

Yes, it is and keeps my mind concentrated on the "good" things, lol.

I did an excel workbook and printed out a copy for each person in my group, along with a page titled "Frequent acronyms". Everyone thought I was crazy!

lol, sounds like me!

Sounds like you need a life jacket. I can't fathom (get it) the idea of planning everything out like that. It takes the fun out of going with the flow. OK enough of the water refrences. Maine :firefight

Oh goodness I found someone worse than me I thought mine was bad at 3 1/2 pages with bullets...I did the same thing 2 years ago and it was only 2 pages but I and DH were so happy we did it cause we saw alot of things other people were complaining that they didn't see.

I'd really be interested on knowing how well you were able to stick to your plans. The few times I did plan things, all ds wanted to do was swim in the resort pool. So we just wing it. Usually decide what park to go to the night before, or if we coming from home, we decide on the way to WDW.

Wow, I would seriously mock you if that didn't sound all too familiar!!!! :)

But, freakish planning gives you the freedom to relax and totally enjoy the spontaneous. I know that seems paradoxical, but when you plan you hit all the big items and don't feel rushed to fit it all in. Plan your heart out and have a blast when you go.

And quit telling people who have MORE than 35 days that you ONLY have 35 days. :rotfl: Terribly insensitive :sad2:

It is very enjoyable for me to "overdo" it- it helps keep me excited about our trip. I do, however, realize that once I get to the parks I will need to play it by ear since this is DS2's first trip and there's no predicting what he'll be like!

last year was my first "over"planned trip -

DH thought I was bonkers - until we got there and I knew what restaurants had a chicken for the whole family or where to get free things for the kids

what time every show was - where characters could regularly be found

how to wake up tink

etc.

now he loves that I know all the little tricks and we are organized - crazy before leads to relaxing there

although I will say - although I was armed with a little notebook of info and we had a daily park plan - I very much went with the flow when we were there - I never planned what we were riding when
