Our own TOY STORY 3 Mania….

Nathan (11) has loved Toy Story since basically it came out…or at least when he first saw it as a toddler. Over the years he has dressed up like Buzz and Woody (even Bekah and Rachel dressed as Jessie). He has made up his own adventures in his room using “Andy’s” toys….anytime road trip movies are being decided on Toy Story 2 (his favorite) was always packed…

His collection of Toy Story toys, figures, books, etc has grown…at our old house, Matt and I decorated his room just like Andy’s (2nd) room…complete w/ over 50 hand drawn and painted yellow stars.

He probably plays w/ his action figures on a weekly basis…whether it’s his version of a Toy Story Chess game or just lining them up…Toy Story has been a big part of his young life!

We all loved seeing 1 and 2 released to the show this past Feb. and just over these past several weeks as most kids were counting down when summer vacation was to begin he was counting down the days to when TS3 would be opening at the theatre.

Since this past weekend was such a busy one, it was decided just Nathan and I would see it on the opening weekend (Rachel will get to see it next weekend at a birthday party and Bekah will go and see it w/ her Dad after he and Nathan get home from BSA camp).

We dressed for the occasion:

And off to the theatre:

I had pre-bought the tickets and we went in found seats and waited for the show to start….

All I can say is it was awesome! :cool1:

I didn’t know much except for the trailers and was so pleasantly surprised…I definitely became sentimental and got teary eyed…it was just so good….certain parts were laugh out funny and other parts just gave you a huge warm fuzzy feeling…plus a few uh will Buzz and Woody save the day moments…

It made me never want to throw any toys away or go downstairs and play w/ the some of my old toys that my children have… :goodvibes

It was a wonderful end to the trilogy.

After the show Nathan and I went on the hunt for the TS3 Junior Novelization at Borders…really under his reading level but it was a fun book to buy him (he read it in the car on the way home). Next was our stop in Target…I had to pick up some groceries and he got to go in the Toy Story aisle:

He had so much fun picking out some new friends to add to his collection (w/ some b-day gift cards)

Once he is home from camp (so appropriate huh? ;)) I will have him pose up his collection in the basement for you all to see…

Can’t wait till you all see the movie too.

Have a great Disney Day….oh and you know how a little Disney always finds you? Yesterday I went w/ my Dad, brother, SIL, and Bekah to the horse track on Father’s Day to see the horses and hang out…there was a DVC Doorway to Dreams kiosk there and they had a huge raffle basket…I asked if I could still enter being a member the CM said yes and gave me this:

Sweet!

Thanks for reading as always…

Ok..so I guess half isn't bad! :thumbsup2

So glad you and Nathan enjoyed Toy Story 3. We went yesterday to celebrate Father's Day.....and LOVED IT! So well done!

Great pictures from your Toy Story adventure! I feel the exact same way about getting rid of any toys now!!! How will I ever tackle Connor's room???

How fun that you received a DVC button! It's very cute!

I better purge somemore toys before I see the movie on Saturday! I was throwing stuff out left and right today but nothing with a face so I hope that makes it OK

I know....good thing we have such a large storage area...I already have 2 huge bins full of the toddler-preschool age favorites...

Yes a pre-Disney "welcome home" treat :thumbsup2

Oh man I have been purging like crazy too....luckily mostly old papers, crafts and games right now...no faces either for us...I try to keep some things to just have for future baby nieces and nephews...my SIL and bro better get a move on...yes I know they haven't even been married 6 mo...and then for the kids to pass down.

I feel lucky to have had my parents save some of my treasures and special toys for the girls to play w/ now...

You will LOVE the movie!

side note massive crazy creative splurge this afternoon....:dance3: I will post piictures soon...created two more Disney timeline books to keep adding to: Bekah's and the AK sign through the years, plus I made two more framable layouts one of Rachel and one of Nathan...plus just about finished a very belated gift for Matt (suppose to have given him last yr Father's day :guilty:) but a cute little chipboard album on a chain...

YAY! feel so accomplished....

J~

I have a hard enough time getting rid of toys as it is... the movie didn't help! :sad2:

I'm cracking up picturing you stalking Nathan throughout Target with your camera! But I'm glad you did so we could see him too! ;)

Yeah right....it's all a ploy :rotfl:

he's a good sport....though in a couple years I doubt he'd let me even be seen in Target w/ him....the other day we were at Old navy and Bekah tried on her clothes in a different dressing room...ah they are growing up...

As promised here is a peek at some of my creative endevors yesterday...:cool1:

nothing for the upcoming trip...but still fun to look at:

I'm getting excited now to start working on my Disney craft projects for the trip!!!!

J~

Oh my goodness!!! I love them all! You are so talented, Julie!!!:worship:You have motivated me to get out all of my scrapbooking stuff! I think my goal will be to finish last year's trip before this one.

Love all the projects Julie!

I'm working on a digital scrapbook for our 2009 trip....just to try something different. I've done digital books before, but never for a big trip.

I wish I had more time to work on my albums...looking at yours makes me want to go scrap right now! ;)

WDW Tour/Itinerary Planning Step 2: (part 1)

Ok so I basically have everyone’s TOP 5 general things they’d like to do while we are there this yr and have begun taking them into consideration for the day to day planning…This is the fun part for me, the tour planning, beyond just the rides or order of attractions to see….I like coming up w/ themes for each day Like last yr’s AK Day “Put on your Pith Helmet, we’re going to Africa!” …or clothes themes for each day like “Tourist Day” one day last yr we all wore shirts that said WDW on them…

Of course at 5 mo out I’m sure things will change here and there and several days already having Plans A & B or notes of we may have to play it by ear….ooh words you normally don’t hear in a mouse scrapper plan….;)

I tried out a test on you all w/ writing out 1 of each of our choices and thanks to Amy, Heidi and Missy for playing along…

Let’s pick things we haven’t done before or new to the individual or basically their favorite things beyond just rides or stuff I know for sure we are doing…like eat in the Castle (got the ADR it’s gonna happen)

Naomi-Ruth’s list is the cutest in my opinion where Nathan’s is the most experience the true Magic of the all of them and a few of Matt’s choices just crack me up….

Let’s take a look:

Rebekah:

She will be just about 11 ½ on this trip and this will be her 4th trip to WDW.

1) See horses at Tri-Circle D Ranch (this request was downgraded from horse-back riding) are they still there and anyone know how to find out best times to accomplish this? :confused3

tri-dcircleranch.jpg

2) Go mini golf (this is a trend amongst the kids…but not for Daddy, as well this has never been done and we have had it on the agenda list several trips now. The cost would be high $68 for the 6 of us based on pricing on the official site allears mention possible AP discount...is there a DVC discount? and/or is it worth it? )

minigolf2.jpg

3) Swim and go down the waterslide at BLT (this request should be easy as long as the weather cooperates and the pool water is heated if it’s chilly)

bltppol.png

4) Balloon ride at DTD (I’d be happy to go on w/ her…but am concerned about adding too many extra budget costs into the plan here it is A-$16 and C-$10, plus unsure if a whole family excursion to DTD is going to happen on this trip…)

Disney-Balloon-Characters-i.jpg

5) See the FotLK show (this is for sure on our list) Here is a picture of the twins as part of the show in 2008

100_1604.jpg

As a side note…she also wants to try and wake up Tink in the Treasures store at MK….need to research this if this is still something you can do?

tink2.jpg

one guide said Tink isn't in the "drawer" anymore and one blog said you can wake her up anytime of day now not just first guest/thing in morning...

Plus she will be bringing another mini AG doll on this trip Felicity to photograph, should get some good shots in Liberty Square in MK.

Nathan:

As well he will be almost 11 ½ on this trip and this is his 4th trip as well.

1) go swimming (I guess those guidebooks are right in reference to what kids want to do )

2) Buy more pins and do more pin trading (need to pre-order pins from ebay or a pin site!)

pintrading.jpg

3) Mini golf (see?)

4) Ride TSM (don’t worry buddy we will!) This is him in front of the ad sign outside DHS last March...

100_2298.jpg

5) Find Hidden Magic and Mickey’s throughout the parks (he has read the Hidden Magic book and is very intrigued by all the cool extra’s you normally don’t see or take time to see, plus as a pre-Christmas/trip gift we’re going to buy him the Magic Guidebooks’ Lost Journal guide…that should be tons of fun for him)

Ok here is something I found on a web site listing some of the best Hidden Magic bit’s http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl...m=1&hl=en&rlz=1T4ADBS_enUS309US310&tbs=isch:1

click on the pictures on the site to see the hidden thing too

Mickey Laundry on the Line
Park: Magic Kingdom
Land/Area: Fantasyland
Location: Snow White's Scary Adventures

It's all in the details. If you look carefully inside Snow White's Scary Adventures you'll spot some nifty Hidden Mickey's, but it's outside the ride where you'll want to look for this treasure. Painted on the wall opposite the queue is a mural of Snow White with all seven of her pals hanging out in front of their cabin. Look closely on the laundry line and you'll see that someone has been shopping at the gift shop. There's a pair of Mickey Mouse boxers hanging with the rest.

A side note, Nathan would like to attempt writing a Dining review on the Disboards when we get back from a child’s perspective….he talks about being a WDW food critic when he grows up…so I’m going to make him a little notebook ahead of time to fill in his notes as we dine around the world!

Rachel:

She will be turning a fresh 8 on the 5th day of our trip (as you know) and this will be her 4th trip too.

1) go mini golfing (I think she got this idea from the other two)

2) Try Test Track (this would be great if she would and if Naomi-Ruth meets or exceeds the 40” mark we could all go on together…ut I am going to schedule this (plus Soarin) on the 1st Epcot touring day since the GP’s will be us and I know my MIL will not want to do TT but she’d be happy to sit w/ the little girls if Naomi is still to short and/or her and Rach don’t want to…)

TestTrack_01b.jpg

3) Tour the Italy Pavilion (unsure why? As we have before…I think she just wants pasta…maybe we can request a KP Mission here? can anyone confirm have you done that...)

E-Italy-02.jpg

4) Go on TTA (her favorite ride…we all like it too…day and nighttime versions are a must…I also just read in the Complete WDW 2010 book they updated the music and soundtrack on this…anyone confirm? ...plus we have decided this has to be Rachel’s timeline picture…)look at her on it in 2005 her 1st trip at 2 ½ yrs old

100_1224.jpg

5) Start a Pressed Penny Collection (she likes Nathan’s and I saw a “girl” version of the books last yr…have to come up w/ a set number of coins she can do so we don’t go overboard on the extra cost….)

pressedpennymachine.jpg

Thoughts comments especially the questions in red... this is aiming to be a pretty awesome trip....

Up NEXT: the other 3 choices....Naomi-Ruth, Matt and mine

thanks for reading as always,

Scrappie J~

I didn't see that you had posted an update til just now. (Amy is camping this weekend)

When we went to FW to see the horses we just showed up one morning and there were a few in the barn and there is the little "museum" part too. I would suggest that you take the boat to FW instead of a bus because the boat dock is closer to the non-horseback riding stable (just a short walk). Ohterwise you have to transfer from resort bus to internal bus.....then walk. I think I have pictures and such in my TR from 2008 (Day 1 or 2)

The wake up Tink thing is different....don't know the details but a CM would be able to help her out I'm sure because the sparkle lights were still there in Oct 2009.

I picked my country for Kim Possible....just ask the CM before they "program" the phone-thingy

And yes the spiel on the TTA has been changed....to what exactly I don't know.

Comments to come later...but for now here is a short Video interuption:

Hint: let it load up/buffer for a minute before viewing...
