I'm now questioning my October plans...

I currently have plans to stay 2 nights (visiting parks 2.5 days) at US/IOA (staying at HRH) and then 4 nights at Disney (BWV). After reading a little more about Harry Potter, I'm worried about (a) whether 2 nights will be enough and (b) whether Disney will be a letdown after Universal. We have those passes that are good for 7 days, but I know 7 would be overkill. Kids are 16, 13, and 6. We are WDW fans, have gone many, many times (big kids remember, youngest probably only remembers last trip when he was 4). We've only done Universal/IoA once when youngest was an infant. I know we'll all have fun, I'm just concerned now that I should maybe add another night at HRH and forego a night at Disney. One point---switching the order (doing Disney first, then Universal) isn't a great option for us since the start of our trip is over Columbus Day weekend and I worry that WDW is too busy on the holiday weekend to really enjoy. Any opinions or advice?

I can't speak to how long it will take to do WWOHP, but in my experience, it's always better to start at Disney and end at Universal. After FOTL, you will all be miserable waiting in the Disney lines. When we get to Uni, my dh says now it feels like the vacation has started -- with the variety of ages of your kids, I don't think 3 days would be too much. You will have a wide range of rides they want to do.

Whatever you decide, have fun!

Like Worfie stated...if you do Universal first and then Disney, you will really hate the lines at Disney after experiencing unlimited Express at Universal.

As for crowds...that's a hard call. I'm a little concerned that IOA will be way more jammed than usual and then the overflow will end up at the Studios. We are going in August and I have my usual three days allotted for Universal but I'm prepared to go for a fourth if necessary. October might not be as crowded though...

One nice thing at the Universal hotels is the chance to pool hop. DS and DH spent quite a bit of time at the HRH and RPR pools when we stayed onsite so that might be something to consider too.

You don't really wait in lines at Disney in October at all if you use fastpass correctly. Everything but the major rides are walk-ons all day. Unless you go to the EMH park.
