I want to try out for a solo in my show choir, and i know that you guys never heard me sing but thats not what i'm sure about. I'm scared that if i do get a part when we go to compitation that i will eather forget the words or that my throat will get scratchy. I really like the part but thats what i'm afraid will happen. What should i do, do i try out or not, i don't know.

always ALWAYS try out no matter what. Do it. It'll give you experience if you don't get it, and you'll also regret it if you don't even try. Who knows, you might get it!

I think that if you get the part, you will be much less anxious. My best advice is to practice in front of people.

if you're afraid of forgetting the words, try going to sleep listening to the song.​

I say at least try out. Like the above posters said: Listen to it in your sleep, listen to it as often as you can. Pratice in front of people, not just your choir I mean your friends, family, anyone who will listen because if everyone has already heard you when the time comes there is nothing to be afraid of.

omg right on! i love singing and who cares what will happen i bet you sound great and you could probly snag a solo any day. I have alot of singing experiance so pm me if you need to talk.

Go for it. That's all I will say. Just do it. Don't let fear get in the way for ANYTHING. Remember, that if you can get through the audition, you can do the performance.

Yay another singer! Singing is my entire life. Ok enough about me. Go for it! Honestly you will be kicking yourself later if you don't. When you get the solo don't worry, you WILL remember the words and your throat will be FINE. Seriously go for it.
