but I will say I'm getting up there a bit. Yet I don't think my eyes have deteriorated too much. But I do notice lately that the font used on the Boards seems might "thin" lately and I really sort of struggle to read the posts on my IPad.

Am I the only one who's noticed this or am I the only one old enough to have this problem?

I read the boards on my phone, pc, and ipad... and I havn't noticed any difference.

I have terrible vision (like, legally blind without vision correction terrible) but I haven't noticed a difference either. Maybe your ipad or computer settings have gotten changed?

Yeah, I can honestly say I haven't noticed a difference, and I too, have terrible vision, and an eye disorder that makes it hard for me to see "details" in the "interior" of things - telling a "d" and "b" apart, for instance, or facial features, etc.
