I'm not clear on cancellation

My niece and her family have 3 nights booked in July after an event at Disney. I used banked, current and borrowed 22 points from 2021 on one of my contracts (all on the same contract). If Disney is still closed at that time, will the reservation be cancelled automatically, or will I need to call? How early?

Right now I've asked her to let me know more than 31 days before the start of the reservation. If I cancel 31 days or more in advance, I think my points will be returned to my current uy as reservation points. Am I right about that? I'm thinking I'll be able to use them by the end of my current year (March 31, 2021).

Its a shame she has to consider this, she has dreamed of a stay at AKV for a long time, but she couldn't afford their resort prices.

Why do you think they will be reservation points? They will just be ordinary DVC points.

As far as when, yes to the 31 days before so the points do not become “holding.” That means you can only book something available 60 days out of the booking date. However, they are not making the points holding during this March time. They may later in year. I think that DVC is themselves canceling the reservations taking place during the time the resorts are closed. I would keep checking the Member Site for what’s happening in June/July.
