I'm Not As Tink As You Kronk I Am - Final Thoughts on Mustard's January Trip to WDW

Wow, that was a long break!

I've never seen the Beauty and the Beast thingy. But it looks like fun.

Only once on ToT? I'm sure you'll get to it more later!

I can't believe you don't like Star Tours! I guess its not really that exciting. I think I only like it because its in Disney.:confused3 At least you got to be designated babysitter of the moms!:thumbsup2

I never knew those were the names of the guys that heckled the Muppets.

There's something fishy about the pictures at the end.:confused3

Yes it was ...and I have to go in to work later today, but I wanted to get this up this weekend ;)

Beauty and the Beast was very cool - well performed and hit all the main points of the story.

Yes, only once on ToT ...but I'll make up for it later on in our journey through the World - heheheh.

Yup, I was willing take a miss on Star Tours. The only thing I regret is that I didn't stop in at the gift shop! :lmao: And I was very happy to escort the moms to other fun :D

Statler and Waldorf rock - kings of sarcasm!

Sorry about the last pics ...I was doing some copy and paste work and messed up. If you go back to the page and hit refresh you should get the right ones ;)

Yay!!!

You are rolling right along:cool1:

I am really enjoying all of your pics. I have never seen Beauty and Beast Show and probably won't until Ds is a bit older, so made me feel like I was there.

I love all your little comments, cue the music, etc:lmao:

Keep them coming Col!!!!

Oh yeah - I'm on a roll big time!

I'm sure DS will enjoy it once he is more aware of how stories work and of course after he's seen the movie a few dozen times :)

Thank you - I live to entertain!

I hope to get one more post in to finish the day - wheeee!

Ok, now I see the Lights, Motors, Action pics. Am I on crack or what?:confused3

Nope, my goof - all fixed now ;)

I loved that show, as did DS!!!

We only made it though about half though, noise got to be a little too much

Great action shots:thumbsup2

It is a pretty loud show ...and I'm glad we were high in the stands and didn't have to inhale all the smoke it generated.

Thank you - I love catching those little moments :D

I can smell the fumes!

So did they have the jet skis?

Whoohoo! Cancha though? I wanted to really bring everyone in on the action :-] And yes, the jet skis are coming up!

There was much noise and burning rubber and turns and jumps and falls and pardon me, but I think you're on fire :D

Whew! Great show, loved it. I posted 62 pictures of that show ...out of the 600 that I took ;D

We headed out and my mom got a call from my dad. He did not go on this day but had somehow assumed that we'd be leaving the park before dark. Soooo, he had been sitting in the parking lot for almost 2 hrs waiting for my mom to show up ...oops. I learned a lesson in keeping him in the loop on our plans. We had ADRs for the Fantasmic! dining experience so wouldn't be leaving for a while.

My mom decided she was done so we rolled back to the front of the park and said good bye to her and then the rest of us headed to Hollywood and Vine for dinner. We were there a few minutes early but were still seated very quickly. The selection was good and everything we had we enjoyed. However we were running a bit late and were running out of time to be able to use our special passes to Fantasmic!

MiL was already done and decided to head down to the back entrance with our vouchers and the rest of us finished up and did the obligatory bathroom breaks before catching up to her. We got through the gate in time and they closed it right behind us - whew!

We sat at the top of the reserved section and got ready for the show. Watching the general seating fill up I was amazed how many people the CMs were able to shoe-horn in there! It was marathon weekend and there were some big teams from Brasil, Argentina, and Peru. They al had banners and flags and stuff and were very compeditive with their country's anthems and such.

After a while we got a pretty good human wave going

Dis08_166.jpg

Then the show began! It is always so cool to hear the announcer come over the PA system and say "Ladies and Gentlemen, we proudly present..."

Unfortunately I did not catch anything past this point ...again ye ole battery was dead from all those speed/action shots. So no fireworks shots this night either. I swear, the world was plotting against me being able to catch any good pyrotecnics on this trip - lol.

So we headed out of the park with the teaming masses and made it as far as the gift shops as usual. By the time we left the place was pretty empty, which was good as far as traffic went. Back to the resort and showers and off to bed!

The next day was Saturday and our exodus from the world of the mouse to escape the marathon crowds and road blocks. Yes, that's right ...its off to Sea World!

You did get to see the jet skis. Wonder why they weren't running that part of the show last time we went.:confused3

You got some really good pictures. Wow, over 600, seriously? You must not have put the camera down the entire time.

So how was your dinner at H & V. What did you all have? I'm being nosey like Sharky today.

Fantasmic looks awesome. No matter where you sit in that place, you have a good seat. At least the tour groups didn't ruin it for you. I hear they can be pretty unruly sometimes.

You make me proud Tat, as you know I was going to ask:rotfl2:

yes, the tour g roups, don't even get me started on them:headache: :headache: :headache: :headache:

Great shots of Fantasmic!!

I have not done that in years and might try and go this year. I am just not sure if it will be too much for Ds...We will see...

I really enjoyed your updates today:thumbsup2

I'll have a story to tell on another day abou "technical difficulties" that made a segment of another show lose an element - I'm sure it was the same thing. If they don't have everything perfect they won't attempt a stunt.

Hehe, yeah - I was snapping away the whole time :D Dinner was good and very filling. I'm sorry but I have no clue what we ate, I didn't write any of it down and I don't remember. The kids just had standard kids stuff ...and I do remember having the roast, which was good and the deserts were outstanding ...especially the strawberry shortcake stuff.

Yup! Had a good view and could really see what was going on, even from up in the nosebleeds :lmao:

They were loud but not out of control and watched the show with "oohs and aaaahhhs" like the rest of us :D

Whew! That was some power-posting, I'm going to get some lunch! Y'all have a good one!!!

LOL, you two!

We saw the groups here and there throughout our days and the only issue we had was not getting stuck behind them at food counters :lmao:

I really enjoyed your updates today:thumbsup2

The show itself shouldn't be too much, but it being at the end of the day ...he may be just too tuckered and get cranky on ya.

Thank you! Glad to finally have them up :)

what a great update. I loved all the pics. your camera takes greats pics.

Hi!

I was so happy to see you had a HUGE update(s):goodvibes

Sounds like a perfect day at DHS!

Wonderful pictures!!! I've never seen LMA and seeing your pictures I felt like I was right there enjoying the show:)

All your pictures are wonderful as usual:thumbsup2

We've always enjoyed H&V in the past, esp. that cornbread stuff they have:lovestruc

I am really looking forward to your SW installment!!! We really loved SW and I'm curious to see how you all liked it:)

Can't wait for more!!!

What kind of camera do you use? Those photos are great! I showed the stunt show ones to my husband and he was jealous because ours didn't turn out anything like those.

And now we're going to have to go back and check out Fantasmic. We've seen it at Disneyland quite a few times so we decided to skip it at MGM. Maybe next time though.

holy picture overload Batman!! :rotfl:

Loved them all. I really felt like I was at "be our guest" and LMA!

You really did take a lot of pictures. You've got a great camera my friend. I'm starting to think I'm gona need a new one before september. ugh!

anyways, can't wait for more! :thumbsup2

Just giving you a bump Mustard.....You are probably busy with the wifey, being Valentines and all:lovestruc

Bump anyway

Thanks much Scott. I was afraid I'd miss too much of the trip by looking at it through my camera ...but it has worked out really well for me and the fam to be able to look back at all the pics!

It was a big one ...which with work and home life is leading me to being slower at getting them out, but I think in the long run it'll be worth it ;)

It was a great day there and I'm happy you enjoyed the LMA shots - it was some frantic picture taking with all that action!

H & V was really good - I know we'll go back there again :D

I've got the pics done from our Saturday at SW and am working on the Sunday ones now. Hope to have it all together and posted this weekend!

I'm using a Canon Digital Rebel XT ...the older 8 megapixel version. The big key with getting those LMA shots was the camera in combo with my fastest lens, a SP AF28-75mm F/2.8 XR Di LD Aspherical (IF). It is a fast medium-range lens that packs a lot of punch for it's price (about 1/3 the price of a comperable Canon lens).

We're just the opposite ...I've now seen Fantasmic! twice at WDW but have never seen it at DL :lmao: I'm hoping to do a DL trip at the end of this year or early next year so I'll have to check it out there :thumbsup2

Yeah, I'm a picture junky ...I guess it allows me some freedom in telling my story through the pictures. And it is really cool to help my family relive the experiences we had :D

My camera isn't as convenient as a point-n-shoot, but I think it is worth it to have to deal with the camera bag. Of course it helped that mostly my mom or MiL carried the bag on the back of their chairs ;)

I'm finishing up my SeaWorld stuff now - hopefully tomorrow it'll be up!

Just giving you a bump Mustard.....You are probably busy with the wifey, being Valentines and all:lovestruc

Thankyee again - much appreciated. I'm actually dealing with some big changes at work that will be a good thing for me in the end, but has lead to some extra work right now. But now I've caught a cold and will be staying home with my DD8 (she also has one).

Our Valentine's day was a work day and I'm sick, so nothing big. I suprised her a pajamagram, which she liked and we'll go out for dinner and a movie next weekend ;)

DW and DD11 will be driving 4hrs north to Salem in about an hour - DD has another cheerleading meet. So Bean and I will camp out here while they do that and I'm going to focus on WDW/SeaWorld stuff :D

Oh, and last weekend we picked up a playmate for our CockaPoo Caesar. Her name is Cleopatra (Cleo for short) and she's a 2 1/2 month old Teacup/Toy Poodle mix

I'm feeling better and DD8 was feeling good enough to go see Spiderwick Chronicles with some friends and a brave mom today.

I got a call from DW and the competition did not go so well - lots of miscommunications and confusion leading up to their time on the floor and DD11 accidentally went the wrong way during part of their routine :(

She is a cutie, isn't she? SeaWorld has stalled out - my web server has crashed and I have to drive out to work to bring it back up.

I can't see a pic. is there one?

Sorry Scott ...as I was saying to Sharky, the web server I have all of my pics on has crashed and won't even respond to a ping. I need to go out and see what's going on with it.
