Okay, public sex, gross...I totally agree - especially at WDW. If I had walked into a public bathroom with my little girls and saw a couple obviously going at it without consideration of anyone else I would have definitely reported it

But I really am not a prude at all.... in fact, on the thong issue - heck, it's only a bum. We all have em. I find them incredibly funny - (not thongs, bums) and really don't see anything offensive about thongs or bums. Unless of course, the thong is on a person who shouldn't be wearing one - but heck, there are people who shouldn't wear halter tops, tank tops, short shorts, high heels, blonde hair, or lipstick. Bad taste is bad taste... but offensive - nah.

I just had to post this!!

I just got back from 14 days at disneyworld Yesterday night and this thread reminded me that when I went on the Epcot Ball ride 4 days ago, there was 2 teenagers and a little girl in the front car and we were behind them.

Anyways, The little girl was sitting on the front row and the 2 teenagers were sitting on the back sit and they were making out in the dark. Yes it was dark but i could still see LOL!!. She went right down if you know what I mean. I was shocked to say the least.!!. I am so glad my 12 year old son was into watching the surroundings instead of that couple who were in the front car.

When the cars were coming down where the ATT&T star lights come up, she got back up and that was that.

It can happen anywhere I guess.

I dont see anything wrong with public displays of affection. But it seems like it sometimes goes too far.
For the record, I am a fan of the thong, ON WOMEN only.
And if I had walked in on someone going at it in the bathroom, I would have walked up to them and started critiquing them like, Is that all you got? And, it doesnt look like she's enjoying it.

Maybe should not say anything, and I hope disney-yachter won't mind me saying so, but I think it's worth noting that when disney-yachter says:

"I'm some one far from their 30s ...but I have the same feelings...and this not the first time I've heard/ seen/ or witnessed this action at disney...."

and goes on to list three differnet "compromising positions" she's encountered....including a couple in the midst of the actual deed on a counter in the CBR....

This is coming from someone who REALLY is far from being in their 30's, and in fact, is under 21. And while very mature - it burns me that it could in fact have been my own youngster who walked in on such a thing.... While disney-yachter may "have the same feelings" about it being uncomfortable. I think it is more poignant givin the fact that she is so young, albeit very bright and obviously mature. In fact I'll wager that her feelings are a bit different than those of us over 21 who would witness such a thing and maybe have a chuckel over it at the couple's expense.

I feel sorry that she had to witness any of those things -

I'm in the 40+ crowd. We will be traveling to Negril Jamaica in July, I've already prepared my kids for what they may witness (nudity), not at our resort but at a neighboring resort. I didn't think that this prep talk would include our Disney trip (August). I've never witnessed this myself but I agree, it could happen anywhere. But people should use common sense when there are children present and Disney would certainly have zillions. I have an open mind, but frankly this is just plain rude and very selfish to the parents that would need to explain to any little ones who may have just gotten an eyeful. There is a time and place for everything and this behavior is not the time or the place. If they just had to do this, it would be better late at night when chances of children are slim. Oh well, that just my opinion.

I'm still in the 30 crowd at least until the end of the year anyway! I do believe there is nothing wrong with public displays of affection. I often kiss my husband in public and we always hold hands wherever we go. But there isn't any reason for these people to be doing what they're doing in such public places. I'm sure many of them actually enjoy the thrill of having others watch them or the chance of "being caught" but still, those of us who see it don't want to! What bothers me the most is the chance of these people leaving behind nasty things for all to catch! We've all been taught "not to sit on the toilet seat" but what about getting on a ride after somebody has been "getting busy" on there? Or on the bathroom counter? YUCK!!! If somebody didn't disinfect that immediately there are very good chances that some little kid is going to be touching that same spot! It's sad that some people cannot control themselves!

If these people are doing this stuff on the rides I can just imagine what goes on in the hot tubs! It always cracks me up to hear people talk about how wonderful the hot tubs are at WDW or a hotel needing them. Who would ever get in a public one? I had friends that went on a cruise. The one couple spent a couple of nights in the hot tub while the other couple swore you could get sick from them and stayed out. Well the hot tub couple got something called folliculitis or something like that. They were in excruciating pain the rest of the trip! They said they had these blisters that were horribly painful. Ewww!! The ship's doctor said it that it could be picked up from the hot tub and that he had seen others come down with it all the time! You can have the public hot tubs!

I like hot tubs. They are a luxury to me and very soothing.

As for couples 'doing it' in public places at WDW.... I get embarrassed when the kids see the monkeys do it at Animal kingdom!!! especially whn they point it out and laugh saying 'look they are giving each other piggybacks'!

My brother's ex-girlfriend contracted necrotizing fasciitis on a trip to Colorado. I believe that he said she had went in a hot tub while she had a small cut on her arm or finger.

Bacteria thrive in hot water. To keep bacteria down you have to monitor the water every hour if it is in high use. At the WL the tubs were always crowded and I never saw anyone monitoring the water hourly. I think I saw someone check in it the morning. I would never sit in a public hot tub. Catching something from them is far from a luxury. Just ask the couple that had to stay in their room for the next 4 days of their cruise.

Actually, I think most hot tubs are treated with bromine, which is similar to chlorine, but not as strong.

And as someone said, bacteria THRIVE in hot water, and it's anybody's guess as to how often the water is treated.
