Hi,
I'm new here. I've been looking around and finding many fascinating stories. I have a quick question. My granddaughter has Tourette's Syndrome as well as other assorted disabilities. One is that she cannot handle large crowds. Her anxiety level goes very high when she has to wait in lines, etc. Someone told me that there is a chance she could get some kind of pass so that she doesn't have to wait in line when we take her to Disney in November. Does anybody know how to obtain such a thing?
Thanks,
Kathy

What you will need is a GAC (Guest Assistance Card). When you arrive at the first part go immediately to Guest Services and explain what accommodations your granddaughter needs and they will give you a card good for the length of your stay that you can show to CMs as needed. Your granddaughter will need to be present when you request the card. It will be good for her and up to 5 others.
You can also use fast pass and should as much as possible to avoid long lines. GAC is a backup.

I am sure one of the moderators will be along to help also but in the main disabilities forum there is a FAQ thread http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=595713. Read through this first it has an amazing amount of useful information. Look for the information on a GAC

I am not sure how much there is specific to Tourettes, but by your description of your granddaughter needs as it relates to lines, the autism spectrum information should apply.

Welcome, I you have any other question please feel free to ask

Thank you very much. I now have a place to start. It can be overwhelming on a new message board trying to figure out what is where.
thanks again.

Hi and :welcome: to disABILITIES!

I moved this thread to the main disABILITIES Forum as it deals directly with WDW.

If you click on where it says "disABILTIES" at the top of this page it will take you to the Index. One of the top items is the "disABILTIES FAQ" which will gives lots of useful information. Post #6 will probably be the most help for you, so start there.

Or, if you want an easier route, click on the link in my signature.
