You and your Dh really need to sit down, with or without his parents and make some decisions regarding this. I know this sounds cruel but if somebody depends on others to take care of them, they really need to adjust they lifestyle to accomadate that. Hate to sound morbid, but what if something happens to you, what then? Who is going to take care of them?

Yes, we have. He is an only child, and every time this stuff happens, they wind up with us for a month or so. I told DH, it has been 5 yrs of this. I am tired of it. I love them dearly, but by us taking them in and nursing them back to health, we are just enabling them to continue their way. I told him, the next breakdown will not find them at our house, it will find them at assisted living. But also as an only child, he is left to shoulder the whole responsibility. Kinda stinks.

We will be meeting with the social worker from the nursing home today or tomorrow to figure out the plan.

I say all the Lushes (and our respective pets, of course) rent a house together -- complete with bar, pool, cabana boy, chauffer, etc.
