Just got word from my friends that they might not have the money to go in March with me, but they're going to try. I'm not holding my breath because this is my friend who blew off the trip with me in December (the night before she was suppose to meet me in WDW) and her cousin. I let them know that if they weren't going, to let me know soon, so maybe I could ask somebody else to go. So hopefully it won't be a last minute bail
So I decided that I'm going either way. My dd can't go because she'll miss three more days of school and she missed eight days in December when we went to WDW this past time. (Plus she's going again this August!)
I'm going Sun - Wed, that leaves me only two full days to plan. At night, I'll be at Jellyrolls so I'm left to planning only the daytime. I've got a studio at BWV to be near Epcot and JR. I guess I'll just head out in the morning with my annual pass and wing it :goodvibes
My only "must see" ride will be EE! I hope it'll be open.
Any suggestions for solo dining around the BW?

Thanks!

Hey -- Have a great time !!! I enjoyed my 1st solo trip in Oct for my mid-life crisis & 35th birthday.. I can't help with the dining - i ate only 1 sit down at Donald's for Breakfast the rest were just counters and snacks.. the best part was just "winging" it.. I really didn't plan too much - I did make sure to sit and catch some parades we were always missing and I also did some rides / shows we hadn't seen (Soarin', Lion King show, Tarzan Rocks, Hall of Pres) Michelle

For solo dining around the BW, I like walking over to B&C and getting a seat at the counter so I can watch them make all the stuff. And there's never been a wait for a counter seat. I also enjoy getting "grab and go" either at the Boardwalk Bakery or BC Marketplace and sitting on a bench or table along the Boardwalk if the weather's nice. Since you have an AP, another nice place for a solo lunch is Chefs de France, in Epcot, by the window.

Hey Michelle  How long was your trip for?

Thanks Simba's mom for the ideas! I've never eaten at France, so maybe I'll give that a try. B/C would be very cool to eat at and watch them make a kitchen sink!!

As Simba's Mom noted, there are a number of great places for solos at the BW. My favs are B&C, the Bakery and also ESPN - I usually sit at the bar or one of the high tables.

I know you'll have a great time - whether your friends or not. Hopefully you'll get on EE - it's amazing!!!

Say hi to Christian for me!!!

Hi -- I did a Thurs to Sun , left Thurs 9/29 at 1:30pm from Portland and got back here on Sun around 5ish.. I had sooo much fun .. I went to DTD after I checked in Thurs night. then on Friday I went to AK during the day and MNSSHP that night. On Sat I went to the Epcot for the day to enjoy the F&W festival. and home on sunday .. It was soo nice and relaxing Here is the link to my report http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=933252&highlight=solo+birthday

Hey Two! Tell the boys at Jellyrolls that Stacy misses them already :teeth: Oh, and I enjoyed a solo meal at Big River Brewery (or whateverit'scalled). I sat at the bar and had a nice conversation with bartenders (not to mention a really great Caesar salad with Mahi Mahi!). Have a great time, solo or not!

No problem! Thanks for the ideas. I'm thinking ESPN and Big River Grille. Are these ADR's or on the fly places?

Anybody know how close/directions to the Hess station by BW? If it's close by, I'll grab a six pack or 2 for the room and some snacks.

Thanks :goodvibes

hess - when you turn into the security guard at BW it is across the street....

if you are walking I would bring a backpack to put your stuff in -0 if you have a car- not a problem...

Thanks! I'll be walking probably. I was hoping it wasn't a long hike, but across the street is great!

LOL! You need to come down earlier! How's it possible that we have 2 trips within 6 months of each other and miss each other by a day or two each time. What's up with that? We need better planning!

Barb & Liz You both enjoy your ADULT time !!!! Post when you get back how much fun you girls had !!! Michelle

If you're eating in any of the parks I can recommend Sci-Fi at MGM-its dark so no-one notices you're alone and you can watch the movies while you eat!

Just added on the night of the 18th.
And yup...... It's now a solo trip.
I'm really nervous, but excited.
The only place I've ever gone by myself is JR. They make it very comfortable to be solo there.
I'm thinking maybe a tour, not sure.
I better start planning.

Liz - I have KTTK tour booked for my first full solo day. What else are you planning? Did you make any ARs? HAVE FUN

It's sounding like there should be a decent amount of people around for those dates - maybe a separate post on the solo board seeing if any other DISers are there at the same time?

Also, I second the KTTK tour - took it a few years ago and thought it was great!!

Have fun planning!!!
