I am waiting for May codes and I am sooooo nervous that I will miss them. My kids are very routine and lately they have been woundering what is going on. I usually help them get their breakfast in the am(early 6-6:30a), but because of these codes I have been walking right by them and heading straight for my computer I quickly log on only to find out nothing yet Anyone else finding that these codes affect their daily lives? Once they come out I will finally beable to take a deep breath and hopefully dance because I got what I wanted.

This is exactly why I will never again book directly through Disney. Last year we used WDWVacations.com that I found on mousesaver.com. They saved us $800.00 by changing our original AAA discount two times as better discounts and codes came out. They even made our Priority Seatings for us.
They did all this for FREE!!!!!!!!
They (and other Disney specialists like Dreams Unlimited) continually look for discounts so you don't have to.
I have no idea why people spend so much time worrying and fretting about this. Let the experts do it and RELAX!!!!!!

I know that there are very reputable TA's but I do enjoy the planning part(despite how I may sound). I get excited about all of it We need to plan our trip far in advance and I find it very hard to wait so this part really does help me. I will see how this trip turns out and maybe next trip I will follow in so many other footsteps and call one of those highly recommended TA's.

I feel the same way! I did put in for the free quote from DU though. Just to see what they give me and if it is worth it to switch. I love to do all the planning. To me it is half the fun. However My nerves are about shot waiting and watching for codes.

I fully enjoy the planning experience! I too am eager to jump on the computer in the morning and check it a few times throughout the day too!

Last trip I did "surrender" and tried to leave my trip in the hands of one of those 2 travel agencies. (I don't want to say which one) It happened to be the time of yr when PS changed from 60days to 90days. It was a zoo!!!!!!!!! I was so concerned that they had TOO many calls to make on a given day for PS that they wouldn't be able to give mine the same priority I would give it. I just didn't feel comfortable at all letting go, but I did. In the end, they got all my PSs but not at the times we were aiming. now, maybe I wouldn't have been able to either, but I'll never know.

Were they competent...absolutely!!!! And they knew about codes and changed our ressies so we took advantage of them and made all my ps's. But using a TA isn't for everyone, as I discovered. I just never felt comfortable putting a middleman between me, and my vacation plans. But that's me. And this trip, I'm doing it solo again...ok w/ lots of help from these boards!!!! It's exciting. Tonight, we're going to see Disney on Ice!!!!! Tomorrow, I start making my PSs!!!!

I always thought planning WAS half the fun? I love coming to the boards and searching out the web for more "tid bids" of Disney info. In the end the result is the same.No matter how we "got" there, we all have to walk in thru the same entrance, and we all experience the "Magic"!! Have fun

Fun and fancy free: I know exactly how you feel! I feel like I am constantly on this computer and these boards!! I am off from work today, so I am going to try to exercise some self control and get off the computer and clean my house!! (Just not right this second... )

The planning is absolutely the best part. I love dealing with WDW themselves. The people there are so nice and helpful. I don't like going through TAs because I like to know I got what I want at the times I want them. ENJOY THE PLANNING!!!

I thought that it wouldn't be as much fun to plan using a TA. I was wrong. I still got to pick out everything and I didn't get put on hold. It has been great and I will never book without DU again. It has been a stress-free experience so far.

Can't help but notice all us snow victims are online this morning.
There is a May/June Code Watch thread on the budget board if you care to join. However, codes for May typically don't come out until the first 2 weeks of February- roughly around Valentine's Day.

PS- I love the planning too!

Rootskate, I myself have tried to shut this darn thing off 3 times already. Always saying just one more check to see if there are any secrets that I just have to know. Besides if I sign off I will probably just be on the phone anyway(paying bills ). I am sure we will come across eachother again. maybe even today

I too, am addicted. I am on all day and night. Especially now that we are in the double digits. I am an PAP holder, and cannot wait for codes to come out....Right now, only have the AAA rate. A CM on the AP line told me that I should check back mid-Feb. for rates...historically more like mid to late March....I will take them whenever they come...

Maybe Disney Visa will have a deal soon...they have 2 for Disneyland.

I agree first thing after my 6 year old goes on the bus I am up here looking. Of course now this is my break since my 2 year old has been sick and I have to pin him down to take his medicine.

We are still undecided about what resort. I love the Dolphin burt 3 of the nights are rack rates and I won't pay that much. We have CBR for a good price, but I am waiting till the codes come out to see if I can get a Epcot resort at a decent price(even if it is more than CBR) I just love the easy access back to the hotel with a 2 year old to take a break especially with Epcot and MGM. So I wait and take a break away from the hectic lives we have.
