We just got back from DW on Sunday after a 9-day stay, and I miss it so much already! It was so much fun planning and anticipating the trip, and then it was so exciting when the wait was over and we finally got to go on our trip. Now, it's all over and there's nothing to look forward to. I wanna go back!!! Waaaaaaa!!!!

What do you do to get over the sadness of being back home? Any ideas? I would love to start planning another trip for next year, but hubby says he's so tired of DW!

Shel

We booked next years trip after we had been home about 2 weeks! ;) We loved POR and we are going to stay there as well as WL. I thought I would miss out on some of the trip planning if I do it all now, but I have not found that to be the case. Now, I just think it what if's and after the holidays I will start to plan day by day. Only 10 more months!!!

I just go ahead and book another trip. I know I can always cancel it if I need to, but I just need to have a WDW trip to look forward to.

If your Dh is tired of disney then could you try to add other attractions to your schedule. Instead of lots of disney maybe you throw in other Orlando activites that he would enjoy that you haven't done before. Then you both could be happy. Just a thought. :)

Definatley book another trip. Listen to mousehousradio.com and decorate your house with disney items. Oh Oh I just realized we are disney obsessed.

Hey we were at POR at the same time! We just got back on Sunday too and I am feeling the blues also. I loved POR sooo much and we had such a magical time at the Halloween party. Throw in all the free dining and eating at places we've never been and doing three character meals, this trip was a dream. :cloud9: I just wish time at Disney didn't go so fast. I already looked at a 2006 calendar and started a count down to the next trip. Same time next year hopefully. I want to go back to POR so bad and free dining again would be nice, but I doubt that will ever happen again. If it ever does though, I'm there!

Start planning your next trip. Do a new ticker and hopefully it will help ease the pain. DH will be bit by the Disney bug before then I bet! :teeth:

Boy I totally know how you feel! Dh & I went once in 1990 with our 1 year old son, again in 1999 with our 3 kids, and never really planned to go back.

However, the free dining plan special made it so inexpensive and we went with my brother-in-law who planned us a great trip. They usually go every 2 years and this time they said it was probably their last and now dh and I (go figure) really want to go again next year! We never really thought we were the Disney type but staying on the property made such a huge difference and so enjoyable! Also now our kids are older and the stress level was so much lower not dealing with strollers and cranky toddlers.

I really want to start planning another trip and this time bring my single brother and my parents along.

I am going to be making a scrapbook with many of the 531 pics I took so that will help keep the magic alive for me for a while! :earsgirl:

I really feel your pain. We have been back just over a week. I miss it too. We packed all our reusuable Disney stuff up ( ears, autograph books, etc), that way they will be all ready to go when we are! Sadly, unless Disney does another free dining promotion next fall, we won't be able to go until Fall of 2007. Because when we go, we'd rather go for one longer trip and really enjoy ourselves, than a quick one once a year that's all rushed and not as fun. So, hopefully the free Dining will start up next fall, and we can all be able to afford to go sooner! :teeth: If not, we'll just plan for 2007.

Give Hubby some time to digest the trip you just finished. In about 3 or 4 months he may be ready to plan another trip. The worst part of any WDW trip is coming home and unfortunately, it's the last you thing you do to conclude your trip!

Here's my advice...(although, I myself, am not very good about following it). Over the next few months, make sure that you let DH know how much you want to go back......but....here's the kicker.....don't drive him nuts about it. This is where I screw up. I drive my DH nuts sometimes. After a few months, he may be more inclined to re-visit the mouse because he knows how much you want to. The deal we made in our house was this.......every other vacation, we go where I want to go (WDW of course) and every other trip we go where he wants to go (wherever). So, assuming we can gather up the funds, we are going skiing this winter and then are planning to return to Disney early 2007. Yes, this is a very long time away and I'm already about to bust......but.....at least I have my ticker moving (see below)! The funny thing is that even if we don't gather the money to go skiing (much more expensive than a properly planned WDW by the way) we should still go to WDW early 2007 because the trip should be pretty much paid for at that point with my Disney Visa reward points and Disney dollars that I buy and save occasionally. Not to mention, I work in the Disney Store and just got a new job at Radio Disney which will likely turn into a full time job soon (fingers crossed). If the full time thing goes through...........hello silver pass, periodic buddy passes, and resort discounts. Sorry to babble but stay optimistic and think of such a scheme that works for you. I'll be rooting for you!

We are in the market for a new house and I told my husband that he could have ANY garage he wanted if we figured in a Disney vacation every year as part of our "mortgage" :earseek: He hasn't exactly agreed, but i don't care. I'm basically a stay at home mommy, but by working nights (11pm-7am) I will have paid for this Disney trip, and the kids don't even know that I'm gone. Another way to entice your DH...i booked 2 rooms this trip...one for adults only :love2: connected to one for kids only :Pinkbounc He's looking forward to that. men are soooo easy sometimes!! ('course I'll probably come home with a "LIVE" souvenier  )

got back monday let me cry with you....
:sad1:

making plans for 2006, staying on the Dis, and making a scrapbook will keep me sorta happy til then!!!

Sad here too. But we probably won't go back for 4 years of so. I just keep looking at my pictures over and over again and looking at my photopass pictures on line.

I LOVE the photopass online! It was so easy to pick out the pics I wanted, add borders, and such, all within the convenience of my own home! So cool, huh?

I think I WILL plan another trip and just hope that DH comes around eventually. At least I can get excited about planning a trip, even if it ends up being just wishful thinking and never materializes. DH really wants to do the beach or something where we don't have to walk a million miles. We walked ourselves silly on this trip.

After returning home to combat the WDW blues, I get my pictures developed immediately and start scrapbooking them. I love looking at my albums and remembering the good times and it also helps me in planning for my next trips. I save all my maps/brochures and tuck them away in the back of my books to use later.

We were in WDW in June, and I felt serious withdrawal pains upon our return. So much so that I booked a surprise trip to DL in December! So can you possibly get away with planning a surprise trip? :flower:

Yup, scrapbooking and planning your next trip--it's the only way to go!! My DH also protests--DW is NOT his fav! However, you can see below who usually wins! :cool1:

Alright, alright, after our last holiday trip I compromised, so we stayed OFFSITE at a GOLF resort (3 days at ChampionsGate, after our CRUISE), and the girls and I rode the SHUTTLE back and forth! Heavens, the sacrifices we make... ;)

What you need to do is a beach/wdw combo vacation! Go to WDW first and then go rest on the beach and drink pina colada's and relax. Then you both can be happy! Also, on each trip we take, we spend less time at the parks because we know we will be back. Tell your DH you promise to spend time doing some other things, even if its just laying out by the pool. Good luck!

I feel your pain. We just got back on Sunday, yet I was back on the Dis Monday. That's my way of staying connected to WDW- by staying engaged with the online community. That said, I think dd14 and I will go back for a ladies only quick trip in march (her birthday) to spend quality time exploring World Showcase. We took the kids to epcot for the first time this year and she loved it. Shopping, baby!
