hi all,
I survived!!! :teeth: ok i sure you want all the facts of how it was in nyc.so here goes.nothing really major went down.a couple of 1 alarm fires,i think 1 even made 2 alarms.nyc's first 2006 shooting was in queens and the first homicide of 2006 was in the bronx from a shot gun wound.some moron ran over 2 cops while drunk driving in queens and now is looking at 25 years in jail.only 1 fire truck involved in a very minor accident in manhattan,no one injured.1 small garbage can fire in time square set by a prankster.otherwise time square was quiet, except for the 1 million screaming people.hope all had a safe and happy new year.as for me it's close to 8 am.nyc time and i been going since 6 am yesterday,i am beat and calling it a night or day.good night all!!

I watched on TV lastnight! I was looking for you! :teeth:

Happy New Year! I'm surprised you didn't get a rescue call for Dick Clark. That poor guy looked awful.

Hope you got some well deserved sleep! Happy New Year MrFDNY!

welcome back...

I hope one day to get to celebrate NYE at Times Square.. Probably when my kids get older and its just us adults.. As crowded as it is.. it looks awesome..

Sounds like you had a safe night. I'm glad.

Night night, now. :)

We were there Wednesday and it was packed, but still really fun!! I don't think I could wait as long as some of those people did without food, hot coffee, or a bathroom. I enjoyed watching it on TV.

Thanks for the report!!
Karen

:cool1: I watched on tv last night too......glad not to much went on.....Happy New Year!

Thanks for posting.....I went to the time square, NYE, drop once and NEVER AGAIN. I lived in NJ and the year was 1984. It was a nightmare.

I saw a clip, where a group of firefighters said happy new year and was wondering if that was your station?!? :goodvibes

But...after watching that and seeing the people saying they'd been there since noon and how they were all squashed in there like sardines, I was really wondering how and where did they go to the bathroom? And how could they even move to get to one? :confused3 I would not like to be that squashed!!

My venture was in 1996 or 1997. I'm with you - NEVER again!!

I did it in for 1997. Never again. Had to keep hopping around the pools of urine from everyone that was going to the bathroom in the streets. Felt like I was the only sober person in the whole City.

Glad everything was safe for you Mr. FDNY! Too bad about the murder and the police officers that got hurt. So senseless.

Glad you made it through NYE safe and sound. I couldn't believe that crowd.

Glad everything was fairly quiet! I was looking for you on TV. Of course I couldn't see too well because I was at an angle and the darn Christmas tree was in the way. LOL.

Happy to hear you had a safe night!

I was watching all those people on TV and thinking, "what would I do if I had to pee?!" :confused3 :)
