I got up extra early this morning - shovelled out my car AGAIN, took 45 monutes to get to work and there's NO one here!!!! I decided to call our main number to find out that WE ARE CLOSED!!!!!!! I am calling my BOSS now!!!

At my former job they decided to paint my office one day, didn't let me know so I had to drive in only to find them in the middle of painting. Would have been nice if they could have taken 30 seconds to call so I wouldn't have had to bother coming in. Another time they changed the locks on the doors and didn't bother to let me know. Took awhile to find someone with a key to my office!! Thankfully I no longer work there!!!!

yesterday Antnee!! There are cars on the roads, other offices are open in my building etc. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!! My CSR just showed up, apparently he didn't know to call first. I just sent him home, I will be leaving in a while.

My DH checked his emergency snow number two times.. one in the evening before he went to bed, and right before he left... he leaves early (6 am!) so he needed to know before he left...

We HAVE to work today at the public library. Think anyone will actually show up?
As far as the driveway (which is 5 car lengths long), we shovel enough at the end to get the 2 cars off the road and make a path to go to the cars from the house.
We're suppose to get rain/ 40degree weather in a few days - hopefully it will melt/wash away some of the snow.
But man is it depressing!

Sorry, Tony! I was up at 5:30 yesterday trying to decide what to do, as even in Emergency situations, we do not close. Kept calling the office (opens at 6:30) and would only get the service. Finally at 7:10 I asked the guy at the service if the office was open and he said we were closed! (We did not close in 1996 the last time this nonsense happened). So we spent the day shoveling & snowblowing. Up today at the same time to do the same thing...only this time the office is open!

If you're bored you can drive on up Bloomfield Ave. and visit my family (and help shovel some more! )

I was working for a small eng. firm in "85 in Chicago when the Bears won the Superbowl....office closed to celebrate and didn't call me! I was SO mad!!!!!!! The train I took into the city was nick-named the dinosaur since it was slow and only 2 in/2 out back to my town. I called in sick the next day...at 3p.m. told them "I forgot" The real kicker is I know it was because I am not a Bears fan. I quit that firm about 3 mo's later when I landed a real job. I feel your frustration, really I do.
