We have our reservations and just have to phone and confirm in the next fourteen days. I am a Toy Story nut and was wondering if there was anyway to make sure (or atleast turn the odds in my favour) of getting the toy story resort. I just really don't want to end up in the mighty ducks since none of my kids have any interest in hockey.

We are going in the beginning of Feb so it is still during value season so I'm assuming it's less busy.

When you call back to confirm your reservations, just ask if you can request it and they could put it in the computer but not guarantee it and when you check in at the hotel maybe you can ask for it if you don't get it especially at the time you are going it may not be crowded.

As another poster said call and ask for your request to be added to your reservation. Also when you check-in ask if you could be in the Toy Story area. Most CMS are happy to help. We've stayed at ASMO. The first time we were in Mighty Ducks and I really enjoyed it. The pool is much quieter than the main pool and the laundry room is much less busy too. We have also stayed in Toy Story because I asked the CM upon check-in if any rooms were available there. Honestly, all the rooms are the same.

Good Luck and Have a Great Trip!!

Dh says the kids are just going to be thrilled about anywhere we stay. It's not like we're going to be spending a lot of time there anyways. I think I want it more for me  .

Here is the map of All Movies.

My suggestion is if Toy story is full ask for Dalmations as your 2ed choice. That way when you leave your building the first buildings you will see on your way out will be the toy story buildings.
All Star Movies is a great place to stay .
Preschoolers love it.
It is like being in the middle of a Disney Movie FantasylandThe Fantasia pool has Mickey!
All Star Movies has squirt fountains now also.
The buses are wonderful.

It only takes 10 minutes to get to Epcot,MGM and AK from All Stars.
MK is 20 min away. That's the same amount of time it takes on the monorail from the Contemporary.

I have visited WDW more than a dozen times with the 1st time in Oct. 1971. It was brand new. I've stayed at FW, Disney Inn, a few the of Hotels on hotel Blvd., CBR and the towers at the Contemporary. I got to see the MK from my balcony at the Contemporary and I'm happy I got to experience it once. I just prefer the All Star Resorts.
The theaming is pure Disney.
My last 4 visits have been at The All Stars and this fall when we take dd,dsil, and our grandson age 3 we are staying at the All Stars Music. I thought about AKL and even though we can well afford AKL I just wanted Alex to experience the Disney Magic :wizard: at the All Stars on his first visit.
Where else can one find Donald Duck or Mickey Mouse at the pool?
Have a great time at Disney!

I was so upset that we didn't get a room @ Toy Story. I had booked over a year out, w/o any luck. This was the 2nd time we were unable to secure it; rate we're going my youngest will be 20 before we do ;) .

We got "stuck" in the Ducks building. It was my absolutely last choice. The poor CM kept telling me I'd luv it; and that it was the only building available. Well, I didn't luv it; but it was very close to the AS Mu bus stop & food court; with a pool in front.

IMO, they should make the Toy Story a Preferred room, think lots of folks would pay the extra $10 or so a night for a guaranteed view of Woody!

When we made our reservation for ASMo, we asked for Toy Story section room when we made our reservation with Dreams Unlimited, and when we checked in, we got it. We went in late February 2005. The kids loved the section alot.

I would call back and have it added to your ressie. On my trip we wanted Dalmation and got it with just the request but I think Toy story is more popular. I would definately put a second choice on there also. We put Toy story as our second choice. That way if they don't have what you want available at least they will know what else you prefer and not just stick you any old where. Dalmation was great. Really close to the food court and just between the two pools so you might want to consider that as a second choice. Hope you get what you want. Good luck!

We're going for the first time onsite and also staying at Movies. We'll be there Nov 27-Dec 3.

Is Fantasia considered preferred view? What are the chances we'll be able to get either Fantasia or Toy Story during that time (value season)?

Thanks!

Fantasia is preferred, there are two fantasia bldgs.
When we checked in a couple of weeks ago, the CM told me we had a first floor Mighty Ducks bldg. Our ressie noted either Toy Story or Dalmations bldgs (CRO's suggestion). I asked very nicely if she might check and see if there was a 3rd floor Dalmations room and if not, then a 3rd floor room in any bldg except Mighty Ducks. She made a phone call and said that she had a 3rd floor Dalmations room for me and to top it off it was ready right then. That was about 1:30pm To be honest, it seemed to me the Dalmations section (at least the one we were in) got cleaned in the afternoon, at least the day we came back to the hotel to swim that was the case. By 1:00pm our room was not cleaned by 2-2:30 it was. Maybe that has something to do with room assignments. :confused3 The CM was very kind and accomodating. Pixie Dust to all planning upcoming trips!

you can also FAX the resort 4 days out...at least that's what I have heard, and what I plan to do. I'll call the resort when we land and try to request it again...DD3 would REALLY love to be near Buzz :flower:

Henrylovespooh,

we're also thinking of going in late February. I'm curious to know how cold it was. Were you able to use the pools? If so, what times of the day? Thanks so much.

I don't believe it will be a problem for you to get toy story building. Today made it two wks since we got back and I had requested the toy story building a month in advance plus called 4 days before my arrival and when we got there we had the mighty duck building so I asked them if we could please get the toy story building and it was 6 of us but two separate family and we had asked for two rms at toy story and we got it with no problem it took a few minutes but we got it and not only that but it was connecting rooms so we had a lot of fun running back and fourth to each others rooms. Ahh.... I miss disney, It was my daughter and I first trip and I also took my niece along and my associate took her two daughters along. All girls! We had a blast we stayed up til 3 am running around acting like kids and waking up early to head to the parks. It became very tiring. But it was a blast! also very hot... We went from Aug 22- 27 then separted and went to family for 4 days at Ft. Laurderdale. Have a great trip!!! :earsgirl:

Reading this thread makes me wonder...do the CM's tell everyone "oh I have a room for you in Mighty Ducks" hoping someone will take it but if you ask for something else, it's probably not a problem. :rotfl:

I wonder that, too. I had it put on our reservation that we were requesting Toy Story. When I got there to check in, the CM said, "so you wanted Mighty Ducks, smoking room?" Um....no, on both counts. :teeth: But, it all worked out. I asked for a non-smoking room in Toy Story, and got it. The kids loved the huge Buzz!

Stayed there in 2001 and LOVED it!!! I requested a room when we first made the reservation for a room in the Toy Story section, then reconfirmed the request a couple of days before we arrived, then one more time at check in. Our room faced Andy's room on the Buzz side and it was great!

I was just at ASMo for the first time the last week of August-a pretty quiet time. I had requested Toy Story, 3rd floor, non smoking, connecting rooms. I got everything EXCEPT Toy Story. We got Love Bug. I said I wasn't happy but didn't ask again for Toy Story. I thought the location was fine. Much closer to food court than my POR room was years ago. We were very close to the elevators yet on the quiet side of the building. And my DS actually loved the cars on the building and the winners circle.

i went through a TA and put in a request for non-smoking and either Dalmations or Toy Story. I called to get a gaurenteed non-smoking for medical reasons and I could do that but I asked about the hotel selection and she said that she wouldnt be able to guarantee.
I know when we went last time we had an awesome CM who changed around rooms and we got Toy Story. I dont want Love bug, Fantasia or Mighty Ducks - my kids have no interest in those
