2010 - what a crappy year.

One niece with a brain tumor (she is doing well now, thank heaven)
One sister with liukemia (currently in remission)

My Aunt passed away in March.
My Mother passed away in May.
We had our dog put down in July after having her for 14 years.
A friend from high school died of cancer in October.
My nephew (my godson) passed away suddenly in November.

Here's hoping the second decade of the millenium starts off better than the the first one ended.

That is a lot to deal with.

I hope 2011 is much better for your family and your niece and sister recover fully.

Oh my, I can't even imagine dealing with all of that!!

I do hope 2011 is a much better year for you and your family!!

I'm sorry you had so much sadness to deal with . Seems certain years we've all had that black cloud follow :guilty:. May 2011 hold many blessings. :littleangel:

I so sympathize with you. This is my past 12 months:
Father died (I'd lived with him for 10 years)
Dog bit my upper lip and shredded it (multiple issues including being hospitalized for staph) Housebound for about 2-3 months
Closing out my dad's house - going thru the possessions took months
Friend died at 52
Best friend dying of brain cancer
Dog (second) had to be put down for spinal cancer age ~5
Horrible sciatic pain for 3 months - diagnosed a few weeks ago with cyst on spine
Homeless since 9/1 - had to move out of my condo for renovations. I've bounced between New Orleans, my sister's place and various hotels. 109 boxes of my belongings are in storage. I am so tired of wearing the same clothes.
And - didn't make it to WDW all year.

Last year wasn't so great for much more minor issues. I didn't think it could get worse.

But next year is going to be better. I still have to have some plastic surgery on my face from the dog bite. Hopefully I will not have to have surgery for the cyst on my spine.

Oh and hell froze over - but that was a good thing - the Saints won the superbowl!

Thanks, everyone. Hope you all had a very Merry Christmas.

It was not all bad this year. I got a promotion and a very nice raise, my wife got a nice raise as well. My son started college and won a scholarship that pays for his first year of college and then a percentage for the rest of his schooling. My daughter and son-in-law and my grandsons were able to visit for Thanksgiving and it was an awesome time.

Sometimes when bad things happen it can make the good harder to remember. I have a loving wife, three great kids, a decent job and a nice home. We have what we need, and most of what we want.

I am missing my mom today, but it will get better over time.

Thanks for listening.

Here is hoping ALL of us - you, me, and our families and friends - have a very Happy and Wonderful New Year.

I had a crappy year as well, not as bad as some of you. But all I can say is "good riddance to 2010"

I agree. Here's to hoping 2011 is MUCH better than 2010. Let's try to remember the good things that happened in 2010 and have happy memories, looking forward to good days to come. :grouphug:

DH got a job after being laid off for 8 months but:

best friend broke it off with me

had ALOT of seizures and went thru 3 meds before found one that works

lost job due to health

I pray that 2011 will be better for everyone!!:thumbsup2

Another person ready to bid farewell to 2010...

- Lost my car because of job loss in 2009
- My dog died in Nov
- My cat died in Sept
- Lost a few family members

Plus other various things through the year...But here is hoping for a good 2011!

Another one who had a crappy 2010. Worst year I could ever remember. :LIVED off of our savings for the entire year since neither one of us found a job. (now who is ridiculing me for being "such a miser") Thank God we were able to sell our home to recover some serious debt that occurred - which I will not go into detail about.

We did find a nice house in southern IL much more reasonable price and much more reasonable area to live in. The 16th of December my grandson, Liam was born and to be honest that is the best news for the entire year. I am hoping 20ll is a better year with our new home, new grandson and new life. :thumbsup2

As said good riddance to 2010.

I'm so sorry!! I hope 2011 holds better things in store for you! I"m in the same boat.

My grandfather who I was very close to passed away. Then, I found out I was probably getting passed over for a huge promotion at work. I ended up not getting it and they relocated this guy who is horrible for the job, who treated me like crap cause he was threatened by me as he knew he was up against me. And I really devoted myself to work, so this was really hard for me.

I was pregnant with our first child, and miscarried 2 days after I got back from the beach.

I'm pregnant again, but the heartbeat is really slow so I'll find out on Tuesday if its up to where it should be. I've been praying that it will be.
