I really only went this second time to eat up 20 minutes before my FP to space mtn. opened up. But, this time the theatre effects were operating and they weren't the first time and we had been none the wiser. No one mentioned that we'd missed out on anything.

Also, the pre-show was not operating for my second viewing but was for the first. So, all-in-all I experienced the entire show but had to do it over the course of two viewings.

So the theater seats weren't bouncing the first time? I saw it twice and thought the moving seats were good for the bumpy landing in the spaceship but seemed odd to be jumping up and down to MJ's dance. Why would the seats move? Are they dancing so hard they make floor jump? That part just seemed a little distracting to me.

Nope, no seats moving. My theory on why the seats move is "because they can." This theatre was built to move the seats so why play a show on the screen without having the seats move.

I believe the seats nearer to the back actually don't move. So if your seat isn't moving, that could be why. I had a similar experience to yours except the second time, the seats didn't move and in retrospect, I'm almost certain I was sitting nearer to the back.

I'm one of those who likes the excessive seat movement during the songs. I am beyond awful at dancing, but if you just go limp, the seat does the dancing for you! :rotfl:

My chair was shaking so much that I felt like I was going to be sick
