I am an obsessive planner and am always looking for a good deal! LOL, aren't most of us!!!

So I booked my hotel (Ramada Maingate) back in August for my December trip and used the AP rate discount. Well I decided this morning to just poke around and see what hotels are still available and their rates and OMGoodness!!! The Ramada is now double what I booked for!!!

So glad I am a planner!!!

Have a magical day everyone!!

Same here! I booked Desert Inn and suites in February for our late November trip and I got their Parlor Suite for $99 a night. When my mom called to book in June she could only get their basic room and it was more then our upgraded room coming in at $140 a night. I just checked now and the hotel is sold out. I always say I wish I could be a more spontaneous person but then you just miss out on great things. :rotfl:

I hear ya! I booked PPH months ago. When the AP discount was released recently, I called and got it changed the same day. Now I'm hearing people aren't able to do that with a few of the days I'm going (no more available discounted rooms). Planning is awesome!

Way to go! I always book a year in advance, then rebook if a coupon or lower rate comes up. People think I'm crazy, but they always ask me to book their rooms for them! ;)

Yay! Good work!

I have mixed feelings about booking early on site. If everyone books early and then waits/hopes for a good AP discount, I am afraid it won't happen because the hotels are already booking fine without one. But the worrier in me also likes to have something locked in, so I wait as long as I can. Sometimes I wait until a good ap rate comes out, but usually I book before that and change it to the better rate if/when that happens.

I finally booked a room at GCH in September, as it looked like they were booking up and the rates were rising. Then one day, there was an AP annual passholder fall package rate (25% off and some perks) so I grabbed it. A day or so later, it was gone and so were all the GCH rooms on the DL website. I'm thinking they may be holding some aside, but I'm still glad I booked when I did. The only thing that worries me now is that it looks like my dates (Dec 7-10) are going to be a lot busier than I expected!

That's great! I want to know your secret! I always book early...I'm booked at BWPPI for next summer. The rates are the same rates we paid summer of 2013, and I'm guessing it's just their summer rates. Maybe it will go up before next summer, and then we'll be locked in. But it's too bad they don't have lower rates at BWPPI if you book early. Or maybe I don't have your secret touch! :)

I hope it's not too busy! I am there the 6-9. I went a few years ago during the CP weekend and I didn't think it was all that busy. Here's hoping!!!

tlovesdis, we are there 5-7 and hoping it won't be crazy too! We have been previous years over CP and it wasn't bad either, but all the hotels booked up make me nervous. Oh well, if it's crazy I'll grab a gingerbread cookie and people watch!
