Today I am officially in my "mid-to-late" 30s.
My DH is in Germany, so we plan to celebrate when he returns this weekend. First thing this morning, DD-3 says, "Mommy, when are you going to open your presents?" I told her about the weekend plan. She started crying. "You can't do your birthday on a later day," she said. DS-6 agreed.
So, the kids decided my parents should help them get me some presents. I let them call my mom and give her their list of gifts for me. Here's what they came up with:
DS: a new phone, some heart candy and my favorite game. (Okay, he's going to be a great husband someday. He heard me griping about my cellphone and actually thought to get me a new one!)
DD: a cup, some cereal, and milk.
(Hmmm...in her defense, we were eating breakfast at the time.
)
The funniest part is that my parents were busy today, so I spent my morning running around getting my own presents. And yes, I did buy myself a cup, which I plan to fill with cereal.
