The winds are really strong here, the sound woke me up this morning. We peeked out our front door a while ago and we have lost a lot of branches from the black olive trees, the block is littered with leaves and twigs from them.

Believe it or not, we heard a saw cutting, someone down the other block must be getting desperate and is putting up plywood in this weather. :( :( The neighbors next door (my faves)  didn't put their trash cans away or all the junk they had sitting on the side of the house that's next to ours. There are two axes, one garden pick, shovels and other misc. garden tools. I think one of the trash cans already hit our house (heard a loud thud), who knows what all that stuff is going to do when the winds get stronger. We gave them a sheet of plywood because they didn't have enough to cover their windows. We thought they would put away all that junk (makes sense, right?), but they didn't; it's not surprising though. DH did takes pictures of their junk yesterday morning, not sure what that is going to do, but he did along with the pics he took of our house.

The kids are making a fort with their blankets in the family room.

Anyway, as I said I'm getting nervous. DH keeps giving me hugs to calm me down, not sure it's working. We lost power briefly, but thankfully it came back. I know that we will probably lose power later on, but I hope it's not this early. This hurricane is going to hang out for a while over FL.

Anyway, I'm praying that everyone makes it safely through this. :grouphug: :grouphug:

Hugs to all.:sunny:

Hi Rita,
We aren't too far from you and I fully understand your fear. The wind has really started howling in the last half hour here. Our shutters are rattling! We haven't lost power yet, amazingly enough! My neighbors have stuf in their yard that they didnt think to put away either:confused: We're just hoping for the best! Good Luck to you!

Thinking of you Rita and all other Floridians in the path of Frances. She is going to hang around for a long time ~ I hope you all make out with little damage.

Thoughts and prayers for all to remain safe!!

I'd go put those garden supplies and stuff in my house... I can't imagine what high winds would do with an ax and pick!!! And I wouldn't want to find out! Maybe they forgot about them?

Stay safe.

 Hugs, Rita! <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/17/17_1_10.gif' alt='Prayer' border=0></a><a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/17/17_1_10.gif' alt='Prayer' border=0></a><a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/17/17_1_10.gif' alt='Prayer' border=0></a> Prayers, too! Irresponsible neighbors are annoying. Especially when you're careful to put all your things away. Hope it moves through quicker than expected and minimal damage.

Thoughts and prayers from Texas to everyone in Frances' path.
Althought you can't see us, we are with you all the way!

I woke up to a large bang! A huge tree oustide fell down and this storm is not even here yet! I was supposed to be at the AK today!

Prayers and  to all in the project path of Frances - and to those still suffering from Charley's effects.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and all those in the path of this storm. May God keep you safe.

Thank you all for the prayers and good thoughts! We have lost power a few times, but then it comes back. So I decided to turn the computer on and do something.  We have been very fortunate so far. DH is organizing a closet.

I called my friend in Boca and they have power, but her friend who lives only a few blocks away doesn't.

My friend from NY visited last week and then they went on to WDW. They are staying at CR and stuck there until the storm passes. We have been playing phone tag with each other in the past two days, but they are safe. They tried to leave Orlando Thursday, but weren't able to.

The folks in WPB are really taking a beating. :( :(

For all of us affected by Frances, stay safe and we will make it through this together. :grouphug:
